Receiving faxes

- Receive report tells me nothing. My first inclination is poor phone line conditions. Put a telephone on that line, lift the receiver, touch a button (to kill the dial tone), if you hear a hum or ANY static at all, call the phone company and have them check the line. Any static can be confused with data by the fax and it won't know what to do with it, thereby cutting off the transmission.
Look in you manual and change the starting reception mode 14.4. If this still does not help, contact the phone company anyway. 90% of the time these problems are phone line related.
