If you look at the Rockbox documentation, there is a way to reboot your iPod into the original iPod firmware and use the original interface as well as having the ability to boot into the Rockbox firmware.
The Rockbox firmware is great if you want more options for transfer and skins and so on, but it is not as easy to use as the stock iPod interface.
You can also refer to the documentation that will show how to remove Rockbox and go back to the original Apple software. I ran Rockbox for a while but it was more or a pain in the **** than I cared to deal with so I uninstalled it.
Worst case is you can do a full restore in iTunes that will restore the iPod to factory, but it will wipe the music you have loaded. Hope you have a backup.

Hope this helps.

Cheers

Please can you help I have a white 30G ipod, trying to coonect to laptop running Vista. I have itunes installed and it wont reconize the ipod

You might need a new USB cord. Try launching iTunes before connecting the iPod, and using a different USB port. If that doesn't work, try a different cord ( maybe borrow one )

My ipod classic that i just bought used from a friend wont sync

What happens when you plug it into the computer and open itunes? Do you see the ipod device on the left side? If not, check the cable connections. Try another cable. Make sure the ipod is charged. See this article.for instructions on how to sync.
If it's still not working, go to iTunes>Edit>preferences>devices and make sure you haven't disabled the auto syncing box.
Still not working, Check the support options for your model ipod here.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.

Photo transfer

you will need itunes on you computer then just plug your ipod in, when the itunes opens click on your ipod image on the left hand pane, and go to the photo's tab. Choose which photo folder you would like to sync to your ipod and then select sync.

For more info on this and other ipod related enquiries click on the link below to go to the apple site, you can also download the latest version of itunes from here.

IPod 30G Video

Are you downloading podcast videos or audio files?

Also, do you have your iPod to sync manually or automatically? Change it to manually if it is auto, then you can put the podcasts from your library onto your podcast folder on the ipod in iTunes.
