Try reinstalling the driver for the keyboard. If that doesn't work try the keyboard on another computer. If the same thing happens you probably have a faulty keyboard and will need to replace it. If not, check for a more updated version of the driver at the manufacturers website.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Greater than symbol? in keyboard?

Dell QWERTY keyboards greater-than symol is produced by the key sequence
SHIFT-. (shift period), like any other QWERTY keyboard. Your greater-than symbol probably wore off.
The Less-than symbol is produced by SHIFT-, (shift comma).

Iam trying to get the black slash and question mark what keys do i use to get them

Depending on setting, assuming that the keyboard is set to United States, the ? and / key are next to the shift key on the right side, bottom row. For a question mark hold down the shift key.

I hope this is helpfull

Iam using inspiron 5010 i5 core laptop, m unable to type greater than or less than signs from my keyboard its showing other symbols, i have windows 7 as my operating system, help me as soon as possible

Hi Faiz,
The standard keyboard language and widely used setting is "ENGLISH (US)"
Set the Keyboard layout to English US so that you have standard keys for symbols etc. like @ sign with SHIFT+2 etc.

The keyboard layout / Language of your PC may have been different (other than English US), so follow these steps to select the International keyboard layout:

- Go to Control Panel - Regional and Language settings
- On the Keyboards and Language tab, click Change keyboards.
- Click Add.
- Expand the language that you want. For example, English (United States).
- Expand Keyboard list, select the United States-International check box, and then click OK.
- In the Default input language list, click Language name - United States-International (where Language name is the language that you selected in step 4), and then click OK two times.
- In the Regional and Language Options dialog box, click OK.

(The above illustration is for Windows XP, but you would find similar options in Windows 7 as well)
The above steps would change the Keyboard Layout settings to 'English US' and you would be able to type @ sign with SHIFT+2 and with SHIFT+. etc

Hope it helps! Good Luck! Thanks for using Fixya!

Trying to toggle from blue keys to white keys

Hi,

You have to hold the shift key down and then hit the question mark key.

In the picture above the key is white but most of them are black. There are 2 shift keys at either ends of the keyboard with the trade mark up arrows on them.

Regards.

Messed up keys

try hitting the left alt and the left shift button together, then try it out by pressing shift question mark. I had the exact same problem and i think you can alternate between french and english keys by hitting these two buttons together.
