You arent supposed to be able to play dvds while in motin if the car is in foward motion but heres a little trick most of the dvd players wil not operate unless the park brake sensor has met and that sensor is at the end of your park brake put a coin on it with a magnet on the other side and this may fool the car into thinking the park brake is engaged although it isnt however your park brake light will stay illuminated

AVH-P5900DVD noise in RCA

there is diodes that you can change to stop the noice or even a capisitor but not fuses. if you look at the capsitors see if the tops of them are buldging or leaking. that is a sign of them being bad and will need to be replaced. the ones you want to look for will be right were the rca's come into the radio from the back.

Make sure the attenuator is not on. Also make sure the unit isnt performing still, slow motion or frame by frame play back. You can also use the troubleshooting guide from the manual located at: http://akamaipix.crutchfield.com/Manuals/130/130AVHP570.PDF

Ipod will not play video to my head unit AVH P5900DVD

ok for the first post with the ipod not showing video .. make sure that you have the correct cable running from behind the deck to the ipod .. (iPod Direct Control (CD-I200 Required) once you have that connected you need to go to the video settings of your ipod and turn on the video out .. by default its offf... also remember with movies on your ipod .. that has to be manually selected from the ipod itself .. you cant control the videos from the pioneer unit.. only the audio/music on your ipod can be selected from the pioneer unit..

Avh-p5900dvd... I keep getting error -02-9e and it wont play cd,s or dvd,s can you help.

Owner's manual doesn't really say what the -02-9e error code means other than a disc error. They do recommend resetting the unit as a possible solution:
  1. Turn the ignition off.
  2. Remove the faceplate.
  3. On the right side of the front of the head unit (with the faceplate removed), press the reset button with a ball point pen.
You may have to call Pioneer directly to find out what the -02-9e code means specifically. 1-800-421-1404
