Question about All-Pro Kerosene Garage Shop Heaters - All Pro PK115T Forced Air Kerosene Space Heater

All Pro 170t kerosene heater is throwing raw fuel out the burner

It worked fine when we got to the shop. We turned it off for a while and when we started it back up it just threw raw fuel out the end and would not ignite. We let it sit for an hour and then it worked, when I turned it off it smoked out of the rear end. It was blue smoke so it was diesel. Any help would be appreciated.

It sounds like it is currently working .. is that right? Or does it only work if you let it sit for an hour, still? The blue smoke probably is from the residual fuel not burnt when it "threw raw fuel out the end" some the fuel probably drained to a low point ..outside of the combustion chamber and then may have ignited after shut down.. to cause the blue smoke out the back... when you turned it off.

If when your starting it up... it doesn't start the first time.. wait 10seconds then try again.. noting what it apparently does.. and doesn't do. does it just 'through fuel for 5 seconds.. does the fan spin .. and push air at the same time when its starting? If yes for both, does the ignitor ignite the fuel/air mixture, briefly then it shuts off.. ?? Hope this line of thinking helps you out

Does the 170T use desil as well as kerosene

Yes diesel can be used in torpedo heaters, but you should only use #1 diesel or #1 fuel oil or #1 kerosene. #2 fuels are dirty and will crud up the heater faster. The other problem with diesel fuel is that it gels at very cold temperature. Anti-gel additives are available.

All pro heater runs for a couple of minutes.then

it only shuts down because of an overheating condition or the lack of fuel. if you have an ohm or multimeter, check the ohms on the fan and see if you have any resistance. If you do the fan is good but may still not be putting enough air across the heat exchanger to safely alloww the heater to run without causing a fire.
