Question about PC Chips MB PCCHIPS SiS746FX M848A V5.0 462 Motherboard
Hi, i installed a PC Chips M848a v5.0 motherboard and the clock will not stay set. i replaced the onboard battery and no luck.
Any help on how to fix this - ? i set the CMOS jumpers per the manual.
thanks in advance !
This manual for this board has the JP1 clear CMOS jumper shown reversed. I can't remember exactly what it was (maybe mis-labeled?), I think pin 1 is shown on top in the manual, but it is on the bottom on the board. Also, Panel one (power, reset, LED's, etc...) is upside down on the board compared to the manual. Hope this helps.

Is the cmos clear jumper in the wrong position? if it is it will drain the battery and mess up the clock, You may have to flash the eeprom with a newer version BIOS obtainable from the manufacturer, check their website on this to see if it is a known issue ( I have seen this on multiple other manufacturers main boards). If this isnt it it is possible you have a bad clock chip
