My laptop is acer travelmate 3210 found in the lower part of my screen. But the sticker says travelmate 3212NWXMi found in my keyboard lower part. Need help I updated my acer bios from here http://www.acerpanam.com/synapse/forms/portal20.cfm?recordid=2789&formid=3394&website=AcerPanAm.com/au&siteid=8116&words=all&keywords=&areaid=12. Now my laptop does'nt boot up. What seems to be the problem? Is there any solution for this? Tia I update my bios in windows XP sp2. I've finished the update and ask for restart but when I hit "Ok" it does'nt boot up and not entering in windows even. Need help please.

Update to my trouble. Camone311 thanks for the reply. I tried your solution but nothing happened. I desoldered the look a like watch battery and resoldered again. But still when powering on the hardisk light indicator will only lit up then after few second only the power indicator near battery indicator is in standby. No display will be shown in monitor. I was thinking flashing the bios in external programming with the original version but I dont know if this is possible.

Re: Retry flashing you bios with your original bios again your missing a
step along the way re trace your steps before you flashed the bios does
the cmos still have the same voltage after soldering? the bios should
come back. I hope the cmos chip didn't go bad.

    Answer:
There is only two instructions I found in the .exe when flashing the bios. Hit the flash botton then confirm to restart when finished flashing. Then after the restart state it will definitely beep indicating board is already poweredIs but in this case it does'nt even beeb Just light up the power led then no more. Is there any way to flash the bios in dos mode using hidden service mode with keyboard shortcut? If it does'nt have then maybe the cmos chip is really going bad. Yes the voltage from the bat. after resoldering is still the same at around 2.5v

RE: Hey everybody with problems on laptops please retrace your steps in
what you did before the crash . whats the last thing you did before the
crash. Don't fix anything if It ain't
Broken. Backup everything, get the manual of the laptop in question try
downloading if you don't have. keep a cooling distance under your
laptop so it doesn't over heat and cause problems.retrace everything
    when you Crash. Camone

Answer: I have'nt backuped the bios 1.2v because of no option found for backuping and restore after trouble. What I remember before the crash is downloaded the bios update for TravelMate 3210 then after dl. open the program I've seen and hit Flash/Update Botton some minutes after it says finished flashing reboot the computer option is popup then I hit "OK" botton.

If I mistaken flash the bios then is fine what I was expecting is a warning from the software program will say after automatically scanned my system hardware for compatibility is.... "this version is not compatible to your bios". But sadly the software does'nt have the feature so I think many user will encounter this trouble again. Hoping the Acer technical support is watching this trouble of mine. At all thanks for the replies.

Shut down pull the battery out try to find out where the cmos battery is . you scrambled the bios. i you can pull out the cmos battery out and can put it in again( a small watch like battery on the motherboard. ) put the main battery in again the big recharge able battery. and see if it boots up . If it does don't mess with the bios you may have the wrong version. If it aint broke don't fix it

How do I fit a replacement keyboard for my acer travelmate 4150

You need to remove the middle cover of the laptop and unscrew a few screw at the lower case. Try the find the logo keyboard at the lower case. I think just this model got screw to remove first to take it out.

Acer travelmate 3210

Acer Travelmate 3210 is the Series
and in that series your Laptop model is 3212NWXMI

like Acer Aspire 5300 is series and 5320 is the model number like that.

there was no need to update Bios
now in case your laptop is turning on
Please try to start in the Safe mode
and there you shut down your laptop properly and try Restarting in normal mode.
Secondly, If you are well versed with the technology then please
try to reinstall the Windows Xp

and BIOS update is something you should be very careful of.
do not try unless it is MOST required
