Try holding the power slide to the left and holding it there for 8 seconds. If that doesn't work, try charging it via your PC & USB cable. If that doesn't work, try a mains charger if you have one (I had to do this with mine). Good luck!

press and hold the lower right corner of the screen. Power the unit on. It will ask you if you want to erase, select yes. This will reset the past password.

Garmin 760 won't power up and is hot.

Have you tried sliding the power switch to the left and holding for at least 30 seconds?

I have a Garmin 760 did not come with a ac

The AC charger plugs into the mini-USB port on the bottom of the unit. The term AC is somewhat misleading as the AC charger plugs into an AC outlet but provides +5VDC to charge the units internal 3.7VDC battery.

You can purchase an OEM AC charger here:

Won't switch on

I had a similar situation. My 760 could not be switched on, despite a fully charged battery. The hard reset procedure (power button held for 8 seconds) fixed my problem.

Where do i plug in the 120 charger on my garmin nuvi 760

I forgot to mention I have the Auto charger, a picture is found here.

If you bought a generic AC charger that claims to work for the 760 which doesn't have the mini-b end, you bought the wrong one.!
That (mini USB) USB port is the only place to charge the battery on this model

Nuvi 760 will not turn on !!

I just had the same issue, after using the unit for 11 months.
WOULD NOT power on... and i freaked.
This is what solved it, no matter how strange it sounds...
I held the 'power switch' to ON for 20 secs, then it came on again.

I hope this works for you as well!

Charge garmin 750

My 760 was like this, I think I'd let the battery run totally flat. I was able to get it to power up, then charge, using a mains charger, thankfully I'd bought one, they aren't included as standard.

If it does not show 'charging' when connected to power, then something may be wrong with the power cord. If it is the vehicle cord (the one with the cigarette lighter plug) check the fuse in the tip of the cord.
