Question about Microsoft Office XP Professional OEM w/ Publisher 2002 Bundle (M04-00245OEM) for PC

1 Answer

Cannot show hidden text in Word

I hid several paragraphs. Now I want to show them. Word instructions say use the Show/Hide button on the standard toolbar. There is only a "Show" button, which does not provide for undoing a hidden paragraph. No help under "Format," either. No useful buttons among those not already present. Using M'soft Office XP Professional 2002. This particular version was, I am told, made especially for Dell. I am using HP. ??? The only other problem I have met is that the keyboard cannot be shifted to Spanish language.

Note To view hidden text on the screen, click Show/Hide on the Standard toolbar (toolbar: A bar with buttons and options that you use to carry out commands. To display a toolbar, press ALT and then SHIFT+F10.).

In order to display Standard toolbar:

On the Tools menu, click Customize.

Q) The only other problem I have met is that the keyboard cannot be shifted to Spanish language.

A)In Microsoft Windows XP 2002 , on the Windows Start menu, point to All Programs, point to Microsoft Office, point to Microsoft Office Tools, and then click Microsoft Office 2003 Language Settings.

I

Click the Enabled Languages tab.
In the Choose the language that defines default behavior in Microsoft Office applications box, select the language you want, and then click OK.

A message appears describing the effects of the change. To continue, click Continue and lose customizations

now when you enter in word document click Tools----->Click Language---->Language settings and select the language and click default and then continue....

How do I get a file back that was hide?

Main Menu > Media > (highlight pictures) > press Blackberry button > Explore > Media Card > Blackberry > pictures > press Blackberry button > show hidden
In short, navigate to the folder where you hid the folder/file and press the Blackberry button and choose show hidden. you'll then see the hidden item in the list as a semi-transparent item. Highlight the item > press the Blackberry button > Properties > uncheck "Hidden". You can then go back and access the file as you normally would.

OR if you have a PC, use windows explorer & go to the Media Card folder where you hid the folder, in the Tools Menu- Folder Options- View tab- select "show hidden files and folders".
You folder will be visible (in windows) but slightly transparent.
Right-click the folder, select Properties.. uncheck the 'hidden' checkbox and click 'Apply'

BlackBerry Tour: How to hide or show programs

You may have several applications on your BlackBerry that you don't use very often. But you don't want to delete them, because one day you might decide you want them. The easy solution is to hide them, so you don't see them during regular use, but they're there if you ever need them.

To hide a program, highlight it with the trackball and click the BlackBerry button (the one that looks like a paw print). Then just select Hide from the menu, and that program will disappear from view.

If you later decide you want it back, click the BlackBerry button anywhere in the Home folder (or whichever folder that application was located in) and choose Show All from the menu. Hidden programs will show up, but they will look fainter than the other programs, as if they were faded or washed-out.

You can leave your BlackBerry set to Show All to see the hidden program, or you can "unhide" it so it's always visible. To do that, highlight the program and click the BlackBerry button, then select Hide again to remove the check mark. The program will be visible again.

Once you've made the program visible again, you can either uncheck Show All or leave it checked. Show All can not be applied to some folders and not others; if you select Show All in the Games folder, for example, hidden applications in all folders (including Home) will be visible.

The same procedure works for folders as well as applications, and it also will work for applications or subfolders that are located in another folder beside the Home folder.

Typing in ms.word shows black spot with text

It doesn't print them right? There is show paragraph option. It shows spaces as dots, and a musical looking p for paragraph breaks. Look under view.

Printing jobs are coming out with the text off the page

Some blank paragraphs may have spilled onto the last page. To view paragraph marks (paragraph mark: The nonprinting symbol that Microsoft Word inserts when you press ENTER to end a paragraph. The paragraph mark stores the formatting you apply to the paragraph.), click Show/Hide on the Standard toolbar (toolbar: A bar with buttons and options that you use to carry out commands. To display a toolbar, press ALT and then SHIFT+F10.). If you see paragraph marks without text on the last page of your document, delete them. Then click Print Preview on the Standard toolbar to view the document as it will be printed and verify that there is no longer a blank page at the end of your document

The virus has hid my files on my xd card, virus is hidden too

Are you sure it's a virus? maybe it's gist the option Hide/show system/hidden files.

if it's a virus, put the xd card into the reader, than use a hack program to get the data out. make sure you scan it with an antivirus program before getting it copied onto the hdd.

In Word, I cannot show text that I hid.

If you press the Show button down, it will show all text; if you press it again, it will hide your hidden text. To hide text, click on Format>Font and click the Hidden checkbox. If these do not work, your best bet is to reinstall Word; a file may have gotten corrupted.
