If the extended warranty was bought solely through that company and was not officially through Sharp, you may be screwed as far as the extended warranty since they are out of business. If the warranty was officially through Sharp,it should not be a problem as there should be other authorized Sharp repair centers locally where you are.I take it you're in Canada?I would at least contact Sharp to find out about the warranty issue.I am providing the global link for you so when you call, have your warranty information on hand(obviously). If the warranty is not confirmed/approved or whatever by them, ask to speak to a supervisor about it.They will have better ability about possibly honoring it out of good faith or discounted service or anything.Be as persistent as possible if it gets to this point. Also, there may be an easy fix to your problem,if so they will know(doesn't sound like it though).Seeing how you probably have to open the menu button, scroll to tint, color or contrast,it's not likely to be just a stuck button. That's all I have for now.Hope all goes well eh.Good luck! When you buy a samsung, you buy a LED TV with a panel manufactured by the company "S - LCD" which belongs to 50/50 % sony and samsung. The S - LCD company is fully driven under samsung engineering. Today, sony seems to buy their panels from "sharp corp" and trying to seperate from samsung due to the cold war (high competition ) between them.
Just go for the samsung UN32C6500 32" 1080p LED HDTV.
Theres no better picture quality you can buy for 32". Good luck...
Yes, don't buy SHARP, problem solved! SHARP is the worst brand of LCD TV. I had to bring my brand new SHARP TV in for repair within 8 months of buying it brand new, and of course it was no longer under the 90 day labor warranty. Also, every person I know who has a SHARP TV has issues with volume and eventually end up with a black vertical line along the side of the screen within 1 to 2 years. I highly reccomend SONY, PANASONIC, even SAMSUNG, LG or VIZIO. Heck, I'd go with Toshiba or Phillips before I'd ever buy anything SHARP again I was so annoyed with their customer service.
I bought this tv March of 2008, and Feb 2009 light engine went out, confirmed by TV repairman. Went through samsung directly.. WORST COMPANY EVER!!! No longer make this part, took 6 months to tell me that, after order went to 4 different repair companies. Finally, they offered $1770 to replace tv.. and weeks later, received a call that it was not approved so they offerred $1200. Still waiting for this check.. paid $2399 for this tv, still owe $1100!!! Samsung has worst customer service ever and do not stand behind their products. If you find replacement part for this tv, please post.. the part is expected to cost $850 and has to be professionally installed at $300.
Honestly brother, there is not anything you can do about this. You have one of two options, #1 buy a new tv, or #2 deal with the scratches. If you call sharp, they will send you right out the door because their warranties do not cover physical damages in any way, shape, form, or fashion. Avoid yourself the embararssment and take one of those options. Take it from a person who knows. good luck 2 u
protron filed banruptcy so that they wont be responsible for selling you a lemon, they covered their asses, theres no solution to their tv or electronic problems, they are a bootlegged company, dont bother calling customer service they are some people in india telling you the same thing every time you call, in other words , they dont even know who protron is, they are paid to say whatever and probably paid one dollar an hour, my tv never worked i bought it from national wholesale liquidators and i suggest no one ever buys anything from this store either, they are a rip off! i lost $900. and sad to say so did everyone else that invested money in protrn/sprectroniq
