Car will not start and central locking not working properly volvo 850 Sometimes the doors lock when driving. Ihad to take the central locking fuse out because when I tried to start the car the doors would lock and the car wouldn't turn over, just lights on the dash. When the car doesn't the electric fan won't turn on, when this happens I know it won't start. The other day I was driving and the doors locked and the car just died. I took the fuse out and at first it didn't start jiggled the keys a bit and then luckily it started. I have had it towed twice to the electrical shop and then when it gets there it works. I have looked at the anti theft relay but it seems that I already have the dummy 210 installed. Could that be faulty? Also when the car doesn't start the windows won't work properly, like very slowly.

You need to take it to the Volvo dealer when the problem is occurring and have the system scanned with a special tool.

SOURCE: Central locking on volvo 850 1996

Happened to me after first purchasing my 850 - check the fuse for the CLS, as mine (for some reason) was too narrow, and was jostling about. Once I changed it out for a new fuse, no problems at all (I performed this fix a year ago, and no problems since).

SOURCE: REAR DOOR LOCK

you either have a faulty central locking motor or the wiring harness may be damaged.
Remove the door panel and check if you have a live feed to the central locking motor when you use the fob to lock or unlock. If you have power, then it will most likely be the motor that is at fault.

1997 850 volvo, when i manually open door with key, the car won't start and lights flash....so now only use the remote, Now remote won't work - had new battery in remote- suggestions on how to lock doors?

Try this trick, push the lock button once your in the car to unlock first then lock then unlock again, your kill switch is activated as anyone could unlock the door with a key, but to be linked together via bluetooth remote is exclusive and good practice if you choose to stop a thief

The door locks in my volvo lock n unlock partially when driving and sometimes it's worse when going over bumps in my car. oh, my car is a 1996 volvo 850

Door lock solenoid is to blame you need to remove the door lock solenoid or get it in the unlock postion and from the panel remove the wire and you ll just have a manual lock and not one that bounces all over the place

I have a 1994 Volvo 850 nonturbo,my turn signal is doing the same thing that my hazard lights are doing when i turn it on left and right. Which wires do i need to fix and where are they located on the car?

you might be having a short circuit open the fuse box try pulling one by one starting with central locking fuse ,each time checking whether the turn signal stop"speed" flashing if you find which one tell your mec to deal with it.
