Question about Samsung HL-P5063W 50" Rear Projection HDTV

1 Answer

Samsung HL-P5063W speaker replacement.

The speakers seem to be blown when playing lows (vibration). Probably happened switching from DVD playing to Dish network TV. I think the volume was too loud and the tv station was playing something really load and it has been vibrating ever since. I should be able to replace the speakers, i need the replacement part numbers and hopefully some diagrams of the process. Thanks

Hi,It sounds like you might be experimenting a color wheel problem. The color wheel is a rotating disc that has a gamma of colors it spins at high rpms. The light of the lamp goes through it to create the colors on your tv.When it starts to go bad you will get color distortion ,black and white picture and sometimes you will hear humming noises.Your part # is BP96-00674A you can find it here: http://www.discount-merchant.com/product-p/samsung-bp96-00674a-cw-enc.htm?1=1&CartID=0?Click=48173 and here's how to replace it: http://www.fixyourdlp.com/guides/samsung/bp96-01579a.php Have a blessed one and go girl power!

No picture after replacing color wheel

every time I see this itbis a cable or plug that was left out or one that got pulled on and pulled the connector up out of the plug a little, you need, and not by sight by your hands to go over every plug and connector till you find one.

Samsung DLP HL-P5063W. . .no lamp!

Remove the rear cover and check the lamp cover switch. Earlier versions used a black plastic switch holder that may break due to improper assembly. The part number for the holder is BP61-01240A. Newer versions use a metal tab attached to the engine. In this case, improper assembly may cause the lamp cover switch to be extended past its range, either breaking the switch or causing it to have an open contact. Replace the switch with BP91-01231A.

Note that in these models, when reinstalling the rear cover, it is best to remove the lamp cover first, install the rear cover, then install the lamp cover. This will make sure that the lamp switch is properly engaged.

Sound vibrates

Test it by moving the bass and treble up and down. If the buzzing seems disappear at lower volumes with little bass and appears from one side only, it is probably a blown speaker on that side.

If the buzzing is apparent even at very low volumes or from both sides, it is probably an audio board issue. I am not certain if your model has a separate audio board or that functionality resides on the main board.

Sounds like your speaker is blown . Is it a stereo? If so you can try switching the balance to the other speaker to see if its only in the one speaker. You can also switch it to mono to see if tat makes a difference. Let me know what you discover and I can help you further.

Mission speakers...i think i've blown one of them...

I'm guessing you mean one of the bass drivers (as standmount or floorstanding speakers don't have subs as such). Place your hand lightly against the driver when playing some music at normal volume, there should be some vibration (this increases the louder you play). If there's no vibration, you're probably right.

Contact Mission, who can send you a new driver, contact a Mission dealer to see how much it'll cost to go through the dealer network. I'd recommend going down the latter route if you are unsure of what to do yourself.

Just noticed you posted this in March, in which case, I hope you got it fixed (or are enjoying your new pair instead!).
