You are probably missing the outside steel damper, you might have it laying on top of unit.or if you had it service by the same guy that did mine .He was going to leave it of,he told me there was no need for it.Well i do H.V.A.C.and when ever you are piping to the outside you need a damper, not just the one on your siding, but one further in.

Over the range Microwave are not the greatest range hood venting system. There is only one side that can remove the steam. Yes you have two filters, this is to make it look good to you. Usually the left side it the side that actually moves air. The right side it you look at it is full of electrical device to make the microwave operate. I hope I have given you so insight

We have a sharp 1480 and have to mount it with no outside vent. Can this be done? patqlt@verizon.net

Most of these over the range models come already set up for unvented operation. That is, set up for use with no outside vent. The oven will filter air through the a charcoal filter inside the upper grill and the vent covers underneath. If you ever wish to change the operation to allow the unit to vent outdoors, you need to change the direction of the blower fan assemby inside the top of the microwave oven. These instructions should be listed in the installation manual that comes with your oven.

Microwave not heating items, also range vent not operating

the unit inside the microwave that heats called the "magnetron" has gone bad or the circuits that power the magnetron and other parts of the unit have failed. if its under warranty still, send it back to the manufacturer. if not you can call some repair shops and see how much it would be to service it, but its most likely going to be cheaper to purchace a new microwave since they are relatively cheap these days, they dont make them long lasting anymore, they are a "disposable" product these days

I dont have a vent for above range microwave oven

It doesn't have to vent outside. These are designed to recirculate the filtered air back into the room. If you cook without a range hood now it will work fine for you.

Our range venting microwave doesn't seem to **** up the steam from the range top. A lot of air comes out the top,but the steam seems to be going in.

We have the same problem with our lmvh1750st lg brand, there is 5 settings and alot of noise and airflow out the top. Very little from the bottom actually seems to go into the vent. We are very disatisfied with this and find during normal cooking we have very little help from the vent hood.

Whirlpool microwave oven mh7155xmb0 not venting

Possibly a bird built a nest (swallows) in or on the roof vent. Make sure the fan turns freely when off. Check the vent tube that goes up to the roof--if flex-tubing, it may have collapsed and pinched off the air flow (it may be too long). Make sure that a one-way valve which should be near the exit of the hood is free to move when air flow pushes on it. This valve is supposed to prevent back-flow of air into the house. Hope this helps!

Recirculating over the range micro does not take care of steam

Mayny reason. Does it vent outside? If not you are not getting a great amount of air flow. Are you filters clean? Dirty filters will stop max air movement. These are not the best machines for moving air but they sure are great spacemakers. Not sure if this can be fixed by any means other than a true vent hood.

Samsung MU3250W Shut down

It could have been steam or humidity.

If this is an over the range model, be sure you always use the hood vent exhaust fan when you're cooking on the stove top.

Whether it's a counter top or over the range top, always be aware that the cooling fan is running when it's cooking.

When in doubt feel for air flow through the vents.

Good luck.

Kenmore microhood

"Microhood" seems to be a slang term for the "microwave hood" (hood fan or exhaust fan) which is normally part of an over-the-range microwave oven or range. But these should be available separately, as I seem to recall. I would contact home centers such as Lowe's, Home Depot (if they still exist), etc., or a local appliance store.
