Let me suggest i ur able the flash drive icon when you go in desktop or my computer then right click on that drive and click the option format and follow instructions, if you are able to format successfully, then no worries if formatting is not done.....

ii) then try to keep your windows'xp or vista cd in the cd tray and restrat system and follow the procedure: formating system(dont wory im  nott going to install or reloading OS ), when u reach a position where u see all the partition(like c, d ,e drive ... with memories), u will also see the flash drive partition along with hard-disk partion separately...

now click on the flash drive partition and press the button D to delete partition and follow instruction after do this , press C to create partition and u will see that a letter(e, f..) will be given to our flash drive....
now quit xp (by pressing ESC, donot proceed loading XP or vista) and now restart system and i think ur flash drive will work.....

in the before post i explained, let me even say this one when you right click on the drive you will get an option eject, after pressing it, if you try to open the drive you will the message "please insert the system disk" in such case try to remove drive from the port and insert it again......

    Thanking you

I have a memorex travel drive 2GB and can not figure out how to use it

I'm assuming you're using Windows ... the Travel Drive is simply a USB storage device. If you boot up Windows, log on, then insert the drive, it will show up as an exra drive in "My Computer". You can start up Windows Explorer and drag and drop files onto the device for storage.

How do you delete thing from hard disk or erase very thing and start over to get more space on the c drive

You travel dangerous ground

The best answer to your end question is....get a full installation disc, not upgrade, and insert while the computer is on. Have a friend show you how to start from this disc. It can erase everything and give you a new computer.

The drive is not recognized by Windows or Mac

You should give Test Disk a try. It's a little complicated at first but if you read the tutorial it's easy.

Unless it's windows 98 you don't need a driver. If your computer can't see it, it's probably broken. Try plugging it in to another computer and see if it can see it

Travel Drive Broke

It depends on your skill level as to if it can be fixed or not. The data is most likely still safely stored on the flash chip inside the drive casing. However, the USB connector has been just ripped off. If you have any experience soldering it would be as simple as getting a replacement usb plug from an electronics store or cutting a cable you have and then soldering the USB connector back to the flash drive inside the casing. This is something than can be done at home or possible by a repair shop that does any type of soldering work(tv, radios, ect) Most computer repair shops will look at you silly if you ask them to solder a thumb drive back to life. I would not expect more than to be able to mount your drive and copy the data. Odds are after you cut it out of the casing it will never go back in correctly.

Good Luck
