Question about Toshiba Satellite M40-S417TD Notebook

Open Question

Hi there, I have a toshiba satellite m40x, couple of days ago when i went to boot it up it would boot for about a minute then it just stopped and wouldn't turn on at all. the power light flashes green and the battery light flashes orange, so i thought maybe it was the battery so i replaced it but i still have the same problem. if i leave it plugged in overnite it will boot up fine for a minute or two but the lights just won't stop flashing and so the laptop starts to beep the shuts down any ideas?

HOW CAN I TEST THE RAM IN MY TOSHIBA SATELLITE M40X IF IT IS FAILING

There is a program called memtest x86, if you run simple search for the program memtest you will find it for download. This has to be run at boot time, so most versions are designed to be made as boot disks such as "hirens boot cd". this is what i would run at my shop to test the memory, let it run for a good couple of errors to see if any errors show because of a heat issue. cheers

Laptop wont boot up there is power going through the system

Hi Thomas
try this:
take the battery out and unplug the power cable (charger ). leave it for couple of minutes then push and hold the power button for about 30seconds and let go.

Plug in the charger/power without the battery, then switch on.
if it doesn't work then it could be a problem with the motherboard.

let me know if this worked so we can follow up.
hope this helped
thanks

Would suggest booting your system in Safe Mode and running anti-spyware (SpyBot) and anti-malware (Malwarebytes) software. Hope this helps.
