Question about Acer n20

1 Answer

Acer N50 Hi Noggin, Hi, please could you tell me what is going wrong with my PDA? Its an Acer N50 and it only switches on every now and then Its a year old and I have Li-ion battery. I have tried a hard reset and I've taken the battery out and checked the prongs are aligning and it all looks perfect. It sometimes just shuts down while working on it and loses all my info. If I push hard enough on the locking clip on the battery, then it turns on. Is it possibly just a simple adjustment needed? Please could you help with some info. I think I may have dropped it. I then have a second problem: I used to be able to connect wirelessly to the internet without a problem and now suddenly it wont connect and none of the settings have changed. Thanks

Re: Acer N50

Hi mach1 Your PDA is fine, it only needs two things. A Firmware update that could be obtained from Acer's website. And your battery needs to be replaced. If it was up to me, I prefer that you visit a support center, then get all your problems fixed. Goodluck

maybe you have to many files on it. have you tried to erase some datas and some applications? if so, then resesting it may be applied by using a usb cable and a software for reseting it, and a pc is required.

but I recommend to you to let a person who can do this, reseting your pda may cause a fatal damage to your unit if not properly reseted.

hoping your pda will be in good condition after..

please don't rate me badly..^^

Will not shut off

I recalled a problem a few years ago with my PDA and the solution (from Palm while still under warranty) was to do a HARD RESET of the unit.

Please note that a hard reset will wipe clean all memos and other information stored in your PDA. Make sure you HOTSYC your PDA before doing a hard reset. It will reset the unit back to its original factory setting. The way to accomplish this is by holding down the on/off switch while pressing the reset button on the back of your PDA. It will respond back by asking if you really want to reset (yes or no).

I did this and now I can turn off my PDA without worrying about it coming back on. Now all I have to do is figure out what in the old config (that's now backed up on the desktop backup) is freaking out the PDA and causing it to not turn off. Chances are it's a software that was recently added.

Hope this helps!

Good Luck and Happy New Year!

Acer n310 pda power problem

I have a Acer pda model C530 and it has a switch that detects if the cover is correctly inserted, check that switch, buy electronic contact cleaner spray and clean it (and clean the battery contacts,on/off button) if possible try with a new or known good battery. If it has dropped to the floor it might have some bad contacts.

I purchased a acer n30 in 2004 and never used it now i have come to use it i find the software is out of date how do i overcome this problem?

First you should decide what you'll be using the PDA for. Your Acer runs Windows Mobile 2003, which although a few years old now, is still capable of doing so many things. There are so many freeware sites available online that will allow you to load up your PDA with gigabytes of new software to keep you interested. Just buy yourself a larger media card to get started.
Here are a couple of sites to set you on your way:
A PDA friendly site
Softonic site

Acer n300 wont sync

you also have a connection manager on the PDA Itself ( Active sync ) Try syncing from the PDA as Well As The Computer Active Sync Program.
Also make sure if you have a firewall, you allow the PDA into it as a trusted Device.
Mike @ Compurepair.
1 more thing, try on/off the PDA whilst in sync mode.
Hope This Helps.

Acer N50 sometimes it doesnot turn on

Hey, I had a similiar problem with my pda few years ago. It didnt turn on, or then the startup info screen came up and the pda just froze or shutdown. I had to hardreset also to get it runing. After a few weeks of this the pda died. It's possible that your pda is about to reach its end. There could be other problems. One thing you could try to do is reinstalling the operateing system if you have such. You can also buy newer operating system upgrades but might not be available for your product and it might not fix the problem if it is a hardware issue. Good luck.

Linksys WCF11 and Casio E-15

I believe that the right card for your pda is the D-Link. They have the appropriate drivers for WinCE 2.11 , but check Linksys' website for more info. You might have the wrong setup disk.
