Question about Zenith C32C86R 32" TV
I cannot turn off the surfing function on my Zenith C32C86R tv. I now have a universal remote that does not have a surfing button on it. I have tried to scroll down into the menu, but the universal remote will not shut if off. Can I shut the surfing mode off manually?
Thanks for your help.

wHEN YOU GET THE MENU UP YOU HAVE TO HOLD THE MENU BUTTON DOWN UNTIL THE MENU DISAPPEARS THEN ENTER 9876 ENTER. YOU CAN ALSO JUST AUTO PROGRAM THE SET AND IT WILL COME OUT OF SERVICE MODE.

Check the manual for your Zenith; many of the Zeniths (and many others) have a 'scan' mode you can call up, in which you can repeatedly press one key (^ for example), then the Power Button. That will force the remote to set every code it has available, step by step.
If you no longer have the manual, you may find it here or several other sites that offer these.

I just found the solution on another model of Zenith TV. Hold the enter button down on the TV and the MUTE button on the remote. In approx. 5-7 seconds a screen will pop up asking if you want to reset the lamp timer. Hit the bullseye button in the middle of the arrows and it will reset. Worked perfectly.
