Question about Frigidaire FRS26ZSG
My refrigerator is an 8 yr. old. Frigidaire Gallery Professional Series Side By Side, model FRS26ZSHB3. My ice bin is overflowing. The arm will not lock in the up or OFF position. I took out the ice bin and no ice cubes seem to be blocking the movement of the arm. It seems to move freely, but just won't stay in the up position, like it's not catching. Any suggestions on how to fix?

could be that the ice maker arm is getting stuck or may have some frost on it. can you supply the complete model # please?

That means that the solenoid that controls the ice maker is defective and must be replaced with a new one.
That means that the evaporator fan system that releases the the ice cubes is not working as it should.
Use the number listed on the owner manual if you want to call a technician.

In photo below you can see the heating element that comes on moments before the ice maker drops the ice. If not working then the icemaker will struggle to unload. You need to unplug the refrigerator and then unpluge the ice maker and remove it to test these parts. Test with a multi meter or ohm meter. Test the 2 connections next to the number #26. there is probably a piece of ice caught under one of the harvest fingers, at this stage of the harvest, the ice arm is engaged and will not move freely until the harvest cycle is complete.

Hi - Is the wire signal arm in a stuck position or has any ice cubes stuck? If so, try turning it off and remove any ice cubes stuck to the wire signal arm or body of the ice maker and wait approximately 8 hrs. Should these suggestions prove to be ineffective and ice maker continues to freezer up, I recommend contacting a professional to properly diagnose and repair the unit.
