Question about Samsung Digimax S630 Digital Camera

Samsung S630 camera says "low battery" then shuts off

I have a brand new Samsung S630. Was using it fine until yesterday. Now it just gives a green light when I power on, beeps 3 times, black screen and turns off. It has new advanced lithium batteries and sometimes says "low battery" and turns off within seconds. It worked fine with the batteries that came in the box, but those don't work now either. It must not be battery related. Is there a way to reset the camera or something?

Thank you for the suggestion. The weird thing is that it worked fine the with batteries it came with and the ones I put in are of much better quality and right out of the package, so it should at least turn on, I would say. I am stumped.

This camera needs rechargeable batteries usually lasts about a week with much use. I thought what a waste of batteries then tried these rechargable and the situation hasn't occured . it is probably because it is small digtal camera which uses alot of power.

Low battery indication with new batteries

Make sure you are using rechargable batteries. Normal batteries are not strong enough. Try using either rechargable Lithium Ion batteries, or rechargable Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH) batteries. These are much stronger and should give you a good battery life.

My samsung digital camera gives 'low battery' message then shuts off when shutter is pressed, batteries are fine , what can be the problem?

The problem is these cameras are junk, and this seems to be a common problem. Try tapping the camera sharply on both sides. Blowing compressed air into the battery compartment sometimes helps. If tapping the camera sharply doesn't help, use a bigger hammer and whack it harder still. Then go out and buy a camera from a better manufacturer such as Canon or Nikon. With the current low prices it does not pay to struggle with unreliable junk like this camera.

Low battery

Your cam has a not so rare battery drain defect, mine had the same problem.

call Samsung and send yours in, they will either fix it or give you a new one.

Usually when the camera beeps 3 times. It means the battery is low. Then it turns right off. What kind of batteries are you using for your camera?

Problem in s630 digital camera

There is a Battery Type setting in the Menu of your camera.

Do the following:
- Press Menu/ Ok button
- Go to Set- Up 2
- Select Battery Type

Under Battery Type there are two options:
- Alkaline- if you are using non- rechargeable batteries
- NiMH- if you are using rechargeable batteries

Wont stay on

You probably don't have the batteries fully charged up. Also you will need to change battery type from alkaline to metal hydride in the "wrench2"(the last icon on the menu) menu. You did get metal hydride rechargeable batteries??? If you got nickel-cadmium rechargeables that might also be your problem with your camera as they don't have enough power.

It won't power on

Batteries are too low. Install new alkaline batteries or better yet metal hydride batteries that have been fully charged first.
