Question about Mitsubishi WD-52525 52" Rear Projection HDTV
I have a Mitsubishi DLP TV, we were just watching TV and then there was a loud popping sound and the TV turned off. When trying to turn it back on, it made more popping/crunching sounds, so now I'm afraid to turn it on, and really afraid at what it's going to cost to fix
First. unplug the set for 5 minutes and see if it will reboot. if it does not the you have 2 problems, the chassis is also bad. next open the lamp door cover, it is behind the speaker grill, and behind the lamp door.
take out the lamp and see if it has broken on the inside if it has it needs to be replaced. mits will send you one i believe it is about 100.00 the number is 915P020010. if the lamp looks ok then the color wheel has probably fallen apart.if this is the case the light engine need to be repaired. check out www.tv-techs.com
