My Aroma ARC 930 Over cooks white rice

It seems any type of white rice is over cooked. I have been using a 2 cups water to one rice. What is the problem?

The rice is very overcooked and almost like fried rice. I called the customer service department. The girl said I was not cooking enough rice. I responded by saying most of the recipes in the instruction manual call for that amount of rice. She said that did not matter???? So why put the recipes in the instruction manual if they are not to be used to reflect positively about the product?

I can't find my measuring cup for my Aroma rice cooker. How much does it equal - I know it is not an exact cup and I am cooking for a real estate luncheon? Thank you s much.

Hi, Heres a simple way to cook rice! A cup is good for 2 person( unless they eat a lot of rice ), just put some rice and add water! Level the top of the rice grain, the water level should be in the first line of ur mid finger. Then ur ready to cook!
Hope that helps u out!

Need basic directions

Hi,
There is a cup that comes with it that equals about 2/3 of a regular measuring cup...one of these or 2/3 cup for every cooked cup that you want to end up with...
The water...
There are lines on most of the cookers with numbers that represent the number of cups you are cooking...fill with water to that line....
If you are not sure, just fill with water a bit over the top of the rice...the amount is not that critical as the cooker senses when the water is cooked off and then shuts down...so a bit more will only make the cooking time a bit longer... no biggee...
Also it is best to rinse your rice before you actually leave the water in the pot that you are going to cook with...
remeber also if you have a brown rice setting that the cooking times are MUCH longer...like up to 90 minutes, so get it started in plenty of time or you will be eating rice for a snack before bed...

These things are really goof proof and make great rice very easily...

Water to rice ratio in an Aroma ARC 1000

Water to rice ratio is usually the same regardless if you have a rice maker, or are cooking it in a pot on the stove. 2 parts water to 1 part rice works everytime.

Vent is just a little hole. That should be all there is besides a handle.
