Question about Kenmore HE2 Plus Front Load Washer
Please help, I have only had my new washer 9 days and already having an issue with my machine, it will not start after pushing the start button, it will only display a F 01 error code, and after reading the manuel, the trouble shooting section explains a possible fix but, that is not working and I am very upset that I now have to wait three days for a technician to come out to look at the problem and hopefully fix it..... I am very happy with the way it washes the clothes however I am not happy that I am already having problems after 9 days of use! Any info is appreciated! We have a Kenmore HE2 and kept getting an F21 code that was not resolved by cleaning out drain filter and clearing lines. So...we replaced the drain pump assembly ($80+ for part). However, when we try to start a cycle, it will still only continue trying to drain, making a buzzing sound, and after 5 minutes or so it will flash the F21 code (long draining cycle). It acts like it is stuck in drain mode even though there is nothing in the lines or water in the washer. Help! I'm at my wits end.
“F21” is a Long Drain error. If the drain time exceeds 8 minutes this error code will be displayed. In addition, a “SUDS” error may also be displayed. This may be an indication of a drain pump problem and/or clog in the drain line. You will need to check the following:
1.First, attempt to unplug the washer for at LEAST 30 minutes to reset the Central Control Unit (CCU). Sometimes this is all that is required to correct momentary glitches with the unit. If the error code returns, proceed to step 2.
2.Check the drain hose to make sure it is not kinked or clogged.
3.Check the electrical connections to the pump and ensure the pump is running.
4.Remove the drain pump filter and check for foreign objects and/or debris.
To check the drain pump, click on the following link for step-by-step instructions
If the above procedures do not correct the problem, it is recommended by the manufacturer to replace the drain pump.

Hello keisha, thank you for your post!
I understand that your Frigidaire washer is making a buzzing sound until the cancel or start button has been pushed. It sounds like it could be a possible issue within the door either not being fully closed or it could be a defective switch. I would recommend resetting your appliance which can be done by disconnecting power to the appliance for roughly ten minutes. Please comment back if that did not help correct the issue. -Matt
