After running self clean the Hi or up arrow button doesn't work

I push on/off button for the stoves top elements push low (down arrow) element comes on. I push the up arrow and it will not increase the heat. The up arrow doesn't work. If you push the Hi or up arrow button after on/off button it will not turn element on. It doesn't beep or anything. The Hi or up arrow doesn't work for all four elements.

I have an electric stovetop and did a self cleaning it would not unlock so i turned off breaker and was able to unlock when i did the baking element was so brittle that it snapped and now all the burn

Ok,... First, and foremost, stop using the self clean. It takes the temperature up to 900 deg F, and creates all sorts of other problems with the lock motor and the walls and the bake/broil elements. Use a Low odor Easy-off spray cleaner to clean your oven from now-on, please.

Now, the bake element needs to be replaced. If you have the model number (found on the body of the Range behind the lower drawer, if you pull it out) I can look-up the manufacturer's suggested part to be replaced. You may also need to replace the broil element, but that usually is the last element to burn-out as most people don't use the broil function of an oven.

You will have to pull the range away from the wall, and unplug it before you attempt to replace any parts. No need to have 240 VAC/30 Amps running through your body. There are several black 1/4" screws that secure the back panel on the oven section to the body (about 6 to 8) and they will have to be removed to pull and replace the wires on the oven bake and/or broil elements. You will also have to go to the oven door (on the front of the range) open it, and remove the two 1/4" screws that secure each element to the body before you can change-out the element(s). The most popular bake elements for GE Ovens are part #WB44K10005 and/or WB44T10010, but there are other Bake elements. Will need the model of your Range to ID the correct element and the cost.

Now as for the rest of the burners on the stovetop not working, they are usually independent from the oven functions, which are wired into the controller in the center of the range control console, but there are a couple of GE models that wired the stove burners into the oven timer/controller. If this is the case, then you may also need to replace the oven timer/controller.

If the stove elements are independent and are only wired to the Infinite switches that control the front left, rear left, front right, rear right burners, than the problem is either with the actual radiant heat burner elements or the infinite switches that independently control each burner. I would still need a model number for the Range to help you more with this.

Hope this is of some help.

Dave

Did self clean, cleaned it all up then I went to test it out, oven control panel says off on any button I push. The elements work on the stove top. Icheck the fuse, tried unplugging it for a period o

Pushing two buttons at the same time is a method worth trying. Maybe the timer button and the button next to it and while holding those two in, push the + or - buttons which would set the time and place it in manual mode rather than auto. Pushing a couple of buttons at the same time seems to be the approach on various devices

Problem w/burners & lights after self clean

You may want to re-seat the right two cooking elements, in case there is poor electrical contact. When you have them removed, clean the contacts with denatured 91% alcohol and a Q-tip. The removal procedure follows.
First, unplug the range.
LIFT–UP PORCELAIN COOKTOP
To lift:  When cool, grasp the cooktop front
edge.  Gently lift up until the two support rods
snap into place.
To lower:  Hold the cooktop front edge and
carefully push back on each support rod to
release.  Then lower the top into place.
COIL ELEMENTS
➢When an element is on, it will cycle on
and off to maintain the heat setting.
➢Coil elements are self-cleaning. Do not
immerse in water.
To remove:  When cool, raise element.  Carefully pull out and away from receptacle.
Check them for damage. They do wear out.
To replace:  Insert element terminals into receptacle.  Guide the element into place. Press down on the outer edge of element until it sits level on drip bowl.
COIL ELEMENT SURFACE
➢ On Canadian models, the two front elements will not operate during self-clean.To prevent the risk of electric shock or fire, never line drip bowls with aluminum foil.

If that does work, you may have a faulty control panel. In that case, call Maytag at the number below.

Whirlpool oven issue

Usually, when an oven won't bake, it's because the bake element is burned out. The bake element is the black, pencil- thick tube at the bottom of the oven. When the oven heats, the element glows red. This element has an expected life-span of several years. It may last for only one; it may last for many more. When the element burns out, you need to replace it.

Self cleaning hotpoint stove

Sometimes in self clean it can burn out the element.  Need to check the element with an ohm meter and see if it shows resistance.  If it shows open then the element is bad.  If it shows resistance then the element is ok.  Next see if you are getting 220 volts to the element when in bake mode.  If you are not getting 220 volts then the control is bad.
