Hobart dishwasher leaking as it rinses/fills

If the brand is Watts, a rebuild kit is available from Hobart. Their part # 118270. It should contain the float with a red rubber gasket and a bonnet o-ring. Unscrew the cap, clean off the sealing surface and drop in the new float OR you might find a local Watts distributor and see if they carry the kit. That should solve the leaking issue. Let me know.

E4 error after attempting to fill and get to temp

This is what I found for the E4 code...hope this helps...and thanks for rating my effort...The Fang.

Machine won't fill or won't fill high enough(LX18, LX30 display shows "E0," "E2," "E3," or "E4")

1.Low water pressure — check for clogged hose strainer; check that site water pressure meets minimum flow pressures.
2.Make sure probes are clean.
3.No water pressure — main water supply valves may not be working.
4.Drain valve open - turn machine off to drain machine, then on. Repeat twice (this assists in clearing any drain valve obstructions). Wait for machine to reach READY mode and press WASH. Slowly open door several seconds later and note water level. Close door; 30 seconds later, open door slowly and check that water level is the same as it was. If not, repeat the
OFF-ON procedure.
5. Delime machine.

2- No fill water (check valve, hose, fill screen in end of hose, and fill source.)
3- low water pressure, should be 20 PSI flow.
4- Fuse 1FU blown.

Randomly Fills Up & Spills Over

If your unit fills with the power OFF, 99% of the time it is a bad fill solenoid, OR DEBRIS in the solenoid. But before replacing it, I recommend inspecting it.

The fill valve is in the front area behind the kick panel. It has a large brass cap with little notches on it. Turn off the water and inspect the valve for debris. If you take it apart slowly, and catch the plunger and spring, it is easy. The only trick is having a pair of channel locks big enough to remove the cap!

Good luck. Mike
