F380 series all-in-one printer i need to re-install it on my laptop i am windows 8 so the cd is not compatible can anyone help.

Just select what type of Windows 7 you have. (e.g 32bit or 64bit) -you will be able to check what type of Win7 you have on the computer by clicking on start>rightclick on Computer>select properties -look for system type

Once you have clicked on the correct version of Windows 7, just download the full software under the Drivers option.
And you will now be able to use again your printer with Win 7.

I checked it and found that it is compatible with Window 7.

click on your printer and then select the operating system and then download HP Deskjet Full Feature Software and Drivers not the Basic Drives.


Note:-To check whether is Win 7 32bit or window 7 64bit

start>>right click on computer>>left click on properties>>now you see whether is 32bit or 64 bit operating system.

If you check the CD that came with F380 printer you will most likely find out that it is specifically for Xp and not Vista. If that is the case it is not likely to install properly on a Vista system. so you need to download the Vista version. Got to  http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareList?os=2093&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=uk&lang=en&product=1128296  to download the Vista version and install to your Vista laptop. 

If you are running Win XP or Vista, you may wanna try the steps below:

1. Start > Control Panel
2. Printers and Faxes (for Win XP) - Printers (for Vista)
3. Click the "Add a printer" of the upper left hand corner of your screen.
4. Select Local Printer.
5. Connect your printer to the USB port and turn it ON.
6. Try to detect a Plug-n-Play (PnP) printer
7. If the printer is not detected as a PnP printer, run through the unstallation wizard and select the HP F300 series or F380 > Next
8. Run through the wizard until you finish the installation.

The steps above are the steps for installing the printer driver using the generic printer drivers that are already installed in every Windows computer .
