Velodyne SPL-1000 II subwoofer only snaps, pops and hisses

My subwoofer will not produce normal sounds reardless of how it is connected. I hooked it up to another amplifier to make sure the problem is with the speaker. I sent an email request for help from Velodyne but received no answer. Can you help or direct me to a repair shop in Orange County, Ca.

Go to the Velodyne web site, look under the support section and check the service center listings.

Also you could try the place you purchased the unit.

On the back of the speaker has two wire hook ups do i bridge from one side of speaker too the other or is it left and right

Get the user's manual for hookup instructions. Don't bridge anything that you are not sure of. If you are referring to the speakers connections, they are used only if you do not have a sub out from the receiver.

SPL 10BV - no output after a long session with volume control seat 5 (12 o'clock). Has it got a fuse?

Most powered devices have a fuse. Does it work after being turned down in volume? or is it completely dead with no signs of power? or does it show some indicator light but no sound? Check for blown fuse and then for blown speaker coil.

SPL8R Velodyne sub - Same probelm

Go to the Velodyne web site and check the service center locations.

They may have one in your area.

It sounds like the amp may be the problem. That may be all you need to send.

Best bet, Contact Velodyne.

Speaker would push out and stay out with a hum when turned on.

Sounds like the "servo" on this unit has gone bad.

You will need to contact Velodyne for service on this.
It is the only place to get parts and service for this unit.

No volume control on Velodyne SPL12BV sub amp

If my memory serves me on this amp, the volume control is actually a chip in the pre-amp section.

You could try and replace the actual knob on the panel and see if that fixes the problem.
If not, you will most likely have to send the amp section back to Velodyne for repair.

If you do send the amp back, use some masking tape and mark the speaker leads. Hooking these back up wrong will blow the driver and the amp.
