RONNY 2051 suggested that we properly uninstall the flight sim software and reload it again. We did just that and again after 90mins of flying the computer bombed out. Local it guys recon the service pack one could be the problem and they suggest more ram memory for a start. I would appreciate some more suggestions before we start buying more ram act. for the relative old pc. Thanks for the help. Doc Coetzee, South Africa

Hi we took the pc. to a technician and the problem was the cooling fan for the power supply that was busy packing up and evetually the power supply was also shot. So the Logitec joystick had nothing to do with the bomming out of the pc. It was coincidental that the problem started after the new joystick was installed. Cheers, Doc Coetzee , ZA

I think the change of joystick is coincedental. Sounds like the PC itself has developed a problem such as overheating due to fan going bad or a power supply/hard drive fault. The game is obviously stressing the computer to the point where it's suffering a hardware failure of some kind. Surely this Flight Sim requires a PC with better specs? ....if he only has 256mb I would lay bets the rest of the hardware is pretty old .... video card, cpu etc.

I know this isn't exactly a solution but I am just making the point that a change in joystick controller is unlikely to produce the crashes he is getting ,,,,

That could likely be a time limit on using the program in the unregistered mode. when you say the computer bombs. do you mean the program locks up... the video locks up or the computer locks up reboots ?

Hi!

Logitech uses the cheapest potentiometers known to man. The first one I bought broke within a month and I returned it. If your friend's joystick comes with warranty, I would suggest that he return it and have it replaced free of charge.

Have fun!

Can I use my Logitech extreme 3d pro on MAC OS X?

Yes! Just plug it in. No driver installations required as it comes built in with the OS.
But, you might, like me, find yourself searching high and low for an operator manual. Nothing came with mine even though it was a brand new, fully boxed/packaged purchase. I'm going to be using mine in a flight sim. I would really like to find a manual that describes and explains what all the buttons can do.
If you find one, it would be great if you would post a link to it back here...

Installed joystick extreme 3d pro wiil not work

Sometimes on those games, if you used a mouse originally, they do not auto-detect that ur using a joystick now - go into the options tell the game ur using a joystick and also there you may be able to set custom control features (what button does what).
Please let us know how it went.
