Question about Canon MultiPASS F50 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Canon Multipass F30 not printing

My printer started to only print a partial page in black and white, but showed no errors. I checked the black cartridge and it seemed empty, so I replaced it with a new one. After that, it didn't print at all. It won't print in color either. It spools, advances the paper, and the print head moves, but nothing. I've removed the cartridges and even put the "old" black cartridge in with no luck. It seems to not even register any cartridge problems (no errors when ink is low or cartridge is missing). Thanks for any help!

All cartridges are locked in tight in the correct places and tabs are removed. It scans well, just won't print. I know that it is the printer as it won't print out any self tests (nozzle checks or alignment checks).

Did you remove the tab that covers the cartridge head where the ink comes out, if the drivers and software that you loaded on your pc work
good and your printer shows under device MGR, then it is the printer
itself,,most times you can not see how much ink in the cart,,,most are sealed,,,just try to put the cart in again and make sure it is locked in good,,try running the cleaning program with pc,,make sure the right
cart is in the right spot, bl in one spot and color in a spot.

If you don't get a better answer,I would have to say it is the printer
board, the system that runs it, if is under warranty I would send it in,if it is new try to return it to store,,most times it is not worth it and better to buy new one. But from what your saying, there is ink, cart is in right, head moves, so this would suggest that the printer is not telling the cart to dispense ink.

One more thing, see if you can clean the part where the cart fits into,,the point where the ink comes out of the cart and meets the head, put a little rubbing alcohol on a q tip and try to clean the area, the hole
could have dried ink in it.

There is a white vertical streak on pages I print.

You can pull out each cartridge and shake it gently to redistribute the toner. Try a half page test to eliminate the various stages of the image formation. The timing on this is not easy but through trial and error it can be helpful.

My Canon Multipass F50 has a "check printer" error and won't print. The ink cartridges will not move when you open the door (as if to replace). It won't even turn off to cycle it to clear the error,

I had a similar problem. Go to this page http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/forums/inkjet/29693 and try the codes they suggest to reset the count for the waste tanks. Good luck.

Printer not responding to the computer

I had a similar problem with a Multipass F30 - check that the Canon Service "mpservice" is running. In the situation I had it was set to automatic, but the service was stopped. You can locate the Services by going to the Control Panel, then Performance & Maintenance if you are using catagory view or directly to Administrative Tools if in Classic View. Double click on Administrative Tools and then open Services. Scroll down and locate mpservice to see if it is running. I hope this helps.

Alarm light on. F80

This worked for me on an F60 and someone else on an F30. Re: Check Printer error message on Canon MultiPass by watsonk (6/7/05 11:16 PM) reply + / - It could be due to "waste tank full" alarm; you may need to reset the waste tank counter. I found a reset sequence for a MP730 printer in this website that works for F30 as well. Try: Resetting the Waste Ink Volume Counter 1) Enter SERVICE MODE.--- By pressing Menu-Copy-# 2) Select TEST MODE. 3) Select [8] PRINTER TEST in TEST MODE. 4) Select 3. [EEPROM CLEAR]. 5) Select 0. [INK COUNT]. 6) Press the [OK] key. 7) Press the [Stop/Reset] key (returning to the state of 3)), and then press the [ON/OFF] key. Skip step (6) since there is no [OK] key on F30 printers.
