Try disabling startup programs. Go to Start > Run (search in Win 7) and type MSConfig. In Startup tab, uncheck anything that you don't want Windows to load automatically. It will make Windows boot faster and use less resources while running. This just disables them in startup. Programs will still load, but when only you initiate.

I have a Asus X551ma laptop and I forgot my bios password. I tried a few things but nothing worked. I read about a reset jumper on the motherboard. Can anyone help me find it and what it looks like

From tomshardware site,,,

You just switch off the power while the "Checking NVRAM" is
dispalyed and the next time you boot, the BIOS is reset.

The easiest way to test it, is to first disable the "Full screen
logo" in
"Boot settings configuration" and then do the test. If the BIOS is
reset,
the Full screen logo is displayed at boot time.

see if that works

Tmax tablet 9 screen freezes booting up

You need to do a factory reset by holding down the power and the volume (-) down button at the same time until u see a black screen with Command prompts.. After this use the volume up and down buttons to stroll up and down and the power button to select.. Go down to data factory reset and press select then select yes.. And your tablet should reset itself.. This May or may not work on the first try.. Please wait at lease 5 minutes for it to boot up because it will take a while to boot after this so don't get all frustrated. If it's still stuck at the go logo just go back to step 1 and repeat.. This is what I did for my tmax 9 tablet when it was stuck at the go logo.. It didn't work the first ten for me but for the 2nd factory wipe it did the trick..

How do i set my laptop to booth from cd/dvd?

There are 2 things you could do. 1) you can change the boot settings in the bios or 2) you can choose the the boot device on the logo screen or bios screen on startup. to do #1 you need to press either DEL or F2 on the logo/bios screen. inside you can change the boot priority. for #2 once you see the logo/bios screen you can either press F10, F11 or F2 to go to the boot device selection. To know which buttons to press for these once you are on the bios screen the right button will be flashed.

Try a hard reset.

  1. Press the home button (the big circle below the screen) and the sleep wake button (the button on top of the iPhone) simultaneously.
  2. Hold both buttons simultaneously for a few seconds, Ignore the "Slide to power off" and keep holding
  3. The iPhone should now shutdown automatically - (fade to black)
  4. Turn the iPhone back on by hitting the sleep/wake button.
  5. You should now see the Apple logo, your iPhone is restarting and thus booting up.
  6. You have completed a hard reset successfully.
