Question about HP Pavilion a620n (PC028A) PC Desktop

1 Answer

Monitor went into sleep mode after uncertain time. -> I am using Intel mother baord and Interl processor. HP 19" LCD monitor. I am facing problem with display. Display saying "Monitor going into sleep mode no input to display" any time. If machine was not started last couple of days then machine can be in running situation for approx 2-3 hours and as the last woring time will be lesser (means if last time machine I worked on macine 30 min before and trying to start now again now then it will not start, means no display at all and may be display for 2,3 or 5 min if I emcountered the problem in last working session). Issue can come any time but it depends on last time working time difference to this time. As the time difference is increacing than the problem will come late. As the monitor goes into sleep mode first time, Imediate after if I will try to reboot (hard boot) it will not show any display. and if I will wait for some time then it may show for some time like 1, 2 min and this time will increase as much I will give time to rest my machine. 1. I think there is no issue with monitor (because I tried the monitor with my TV tuner card after this problem. It was working fine. 2. My mother board is in warrnty period I asked Intel if there is any issue with Board - No issue found. 3. I am not getting this time where exactly the problem is?? It can be SMPS problem. It can be heating issue. As some cell are got heat they stop working and after some time as it get in normal temprature. It start working prperly. 4. It can be UPS problem. My UPS is old ( approx 2 year) back up is only 5 min. I am not sure. cn any one suggest me. How can I resolve this abnormal problem. ;-( I m very much frustated. Please help.

Exactly ... Thats what I am saying moniter is working fne..

and it is not conectlvity problem because if one thing is working fine for 2 hours and it stop working and again after few days it start working fine so... It is some thing related to heating or some hard ware issue.

    I am using core2do processor.

Please give me some meaning answer, dont bug me.

This happens when there is no communication with video card. Check cables, re-seat video card, make sure monitor is set to correct mode. VGA (15pin blue), DVI (white), or HDMI.

Hit start Alienware computer goest to alien head on screen then straight to sleep mode. Please read

When you say computer clock do you mean the LED read out on the mother board? if so the numbers you are seeing are error codes you will need the mother board manual to know what those codes mean. If you don't have the manual it's possible you can go to the mother board manufacturers web site and download one then you can look up the codes to see what the problems are. Hope this helps

Turned computer on and monitor instantly goes to sleep, also cant turn off the computer using button.have to use switch on power supply

Try this, unplug everything from the other board except the main hard drive, power connections, and monitor. if it does not come up, remove ram cards, leaving one stick. try again, if it is still bad swap ram sticks. If after all of this it still does not work you have a bad motherboard or processor

When turned on,it just makes beeping noise, then the monitor goes to sleep

Possible that the memory is fault , the mother board is faulty or the monitor is not working. So if teh PC is shutting without any display check the PC with another external display to confirm the monitor.
If not the PC had errors in the hardware.

Can you try the monitor on another computer? Also, make sure the cable is tight on the monitor side. And you also may need to replace the cable between the monitor and the computer.

I currently operate an HP nc8430 Laptop with a docking station. Attached is a Phillips a 24" Widescreen LCD monitor. The problem is as follows: • At startup, the Laptop and LCD work fine up until...

1) Change the power settings to not do anything when you close the lid under AC power. The LCD isn't entering sleep mode, the laptop is.

2) Change the monitor setup so that monitor 2 (the LCD) is the main monitor.

3) Change the resolution for the LCD to the way you want it. (You may also have to use the monitor's adjustments - on the monitor - to make the display a little smaller, so you can see everything. Different monitors are masked differently.)
