Question about HP Officejet 5610 All-In-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

Lost 'Destinations.msi' In the process of removing a user account and establishing a new one, I find I cannot use the networking at all--either as wireless or with an ethernet connection. When I log on in either the old or the new user account, all I get is a message that says I need to reinstall Destinations.msi from a disk. I'm stumped. This is a Toshiba Staellite U205 that came as Vista -ready. I installed Vista from the disk they sent three months later and have had noting but trouble. I can't go back to XP and If I put the XP recovery disks in, I get a message that tells me it is not an XP system. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks, htheninth

Thank you! This is proof that I am out past what I know. I had no idea msi was a piece of the equipment/software--I thought is was a file type. I'm going to play around with the downloads from their site and see what I can do. I did completely and successfully reformat the hard drive on a netbook a few weeks ago, but am a bit less sure of myself with this one becasue of all the cross Vista issues. It may come to that, but because everything else seems to be working just fine, I will try your suggestions first. I really appreciate this and will work on getting past my embarrassment for my oblivion.

Since you have the recovery disks you may reformat the hard drive and reinstall windows Xp.  You can reformat the hard drive with some free software that can usually download from the manufactor of you hard drive. Yuor hard drive is listed under   MY computer(right click) - properties-hardware . The other option is to go to the MSI website and see if they have special software for *********** board for VISTA for the:" Destinations.msi"

You can do it with the Web Image Monitor.
It is easier and faster.
Open the browser and type the IP address of the machine and login as:
user: admin
pw: (no password)
Go to address book and you will see the users there are created. You can add or remove depending on your needs.
Hope that helps.
See you

I forget password and want to reset it.(lexmark642e)

Passwords add a level of security to your computer. When sharing a computer with others, your customized settings, computer programs, and system resources are more secure when you assign a password to your logon name or user account name. The steps to perform this task differ depending on whether your computer is a member of a network domain or is part of a workgroup (or is a stand-alone computer). My computer is on a domain You must be logged on as an administrator or a member of the Administrators group in order to complete this procedure. If your computer is connected to a network, network policy settings might also prevent you from completing this procedure. Open User Accounts in Control Panel. On the Users tab, click the name of the user whose password you want to change, and then click Reset Password. In New password and Confirm new password, type the new password, and then click OK. Notes You can change passwords only for local computer accounts, such as guest, administrator, or accounts you create for your computer. You cannot change your network logon password in User Accounts. To change your own password, press CTRL ALT DELETE and then click Change Password. My computer is not on a domain If no password has been assigned to the user's account, a password will need to be created before it can be changed. For information about creating a password, click Related Topics. The steps to perform this task differ depending on the type of user account you have. If you have a computer administrator account Open User Accounts in Control Panel. Click your account name. Click Change my password. In Type your current password, type your current password. In Type a new password and Type the new password again to confirm, type your new password. You can also enter descriptive or meaningful text in Type a word or phrase to use as a password hint to help you remember your password. Click Change Password. If you have a limited account Open User Accounts in Control Panel. Click Change my password. In Type your current password, type your current password. In Type a new password and Type the new password again to confirm, type the new password. You can also enter descriptive or meaningful text in Type a word or phrase to use as a password hint to help you remember your password. Click Change Password. Notes A user with a computer administrator account can create and change passwords for all users on the computer. Users with limited accounts can create and change their own passwords, as well as create their own password hints. If a user with a computer administrator account changes the password for another user, that user will lose all EFS-encrypted files, personal certificates, and stored passwords for Web sites or network resources. Notes To open User Accounts, click Start, click Control Panel, and then click User Accounts. For more information about user accounts, click Related Topics. Related Topics

Have You Lost Your Windows Admin Password?

Forgetting your Windows administrator login password. With no way to get into the system, you can’t even perform basic maintenance, let alone a thorough tune-up. Formatting is always an option, but we consider that a last resort. (Plus, guess who’s going to have to help reinstall all the programs lost after a wipe?) But all hope is not lost. There are a few ways to actually retrieve a lost Windows account password. Read on, and we’ll show you the light.

1st Method:
The first thing which you check if you forget login password. When we install Windows, it automatically creates an account "Administrator" and sets its password to blank. So if you have forget your user account password then try this:
Start system and when you see Windows Welcome screen / Login screen, press <ctrl>+<alt>+<del> keys twice and it'll show Classic Login box. Now type "Administrator" (without quotes) in Username and leave Password field blank. Now press Enter and you should be able to log in Windows.
Now you can reset your account password from "Control Panel -> User Accounts".
Same thing can be done using Safe Mode. In Safe Mode Windows will show this in-built Administrator account in Login screen.

2th Method:
There are a lot of Windows password revealers and crackers available, but we’ve found that Windows Password Recovery Tool is the most effective.:
Windows Password Recovery Tool is one of the easiest password recovery tools to use. It allows you to reset a user account password, including the Administrator password. It is also a relatively small download.
