The display screen will not clear on my FinePix A900
The display only shows a blue/black image of a photo taken. I have taken the SD card and batteries out but it still shows the same image. I can not see menu items because of the image. Is there a "reset" button somewhere that will clear internal memory?

This sounds like the screen is damaged. When you are taking the photo, can you see the image clearly. If not, the screen is damaged and you need to replace the screen.
If you can, however, see the image clearly, then check that your settings aren't putting on any effects
First of all, it is never advisable to copy a picture from the computer to a memory card or camera. Most of the time, it will corrupt the card and sometimes the camera.
Second, the procedure for connection to a tv needs to follow a detailed procedure. This is different for each tv and camera. For example, on my tv, my camera and tv need to be off, I make the connection, turn on the tv, set the tv menu to "photos", turn on the camera, and then follow the on-screen prompts from there. If I change that order, I have problems.
i have the exact same problem it works again when you erase the memory card i think its nont the actual memory card but a general camera problem ive tried both my sd 8 gb card and sdhc 16 gb card and both have the same problem
Check the SD card, they have sliders on them which lets you "lock" the card so nothing can be put on or taken off of it. Make sure that is off. Then go through the menu on the camera and try to format the card again. If the card is bad it should give you an error message when it tries otherwise you should be good :)
hey my camera just did the same thing, have you tried replacing the batteries - i thought it couldnt be the batteries because the playback screen still showeed up just not the one to take photos but i just put in newly recharged ones and it can take pics again so maybe try that :)
possibly the ribbon has come out of it's socket. Or it is damaged.
The selector dial on the back has it's own ribbon to connect it to the main pcb.
I have spare parts off an A800 If that's any help? email@example.com
Have you tried to format the camera? Alternatively, and don't mean to sound rude but have you taken the lense cap off?
Are you getting any menu options on the lcd screen or is it totally blank? If this is the case then likely there is a problem with your camera and you should speak to who ever you bought it from.
This sounds like it might be a defective CCD imager. If so, Fuji should fix this for you for free. This is regardless of your camera's warranty status. Please check the following two links for more info:
I have seen this problem with generic SD memory cards so it could be a faulty memory stick. Try to get a replacement. If you want to try to recover the pictures you have taken, I suggest Zero Assumption Recovery (Google for it). Check to see if it is compatible with your camera before downloading.
