Re: Picture Card

You cant put another card in these, they have fixed memory of about 2 mb, takes about 50 low res pics, use it as a webcam instead.

My casio exilim got virus and im unable to see my files. And it only contains of virus files that cant open. what can i do to solve this kind of problem?

All digital cameras I've ever seen do not run unsigned code (or any code for that matter) so it's very highly unlikely (or impossible) that your camera has a virus. It's probably just broken.

Put a different memory card into your camera and take a picture. If it doesn't work normally then your camera is likely broken. If it works normally then your original memory card is corrupt. If that's the case use a memory card reader (sold at Staples/Amazon/CVS) and try a program like Card Recovery, Digital Picture Recovery, or ZAR. You can usually get everything back if you didn't already overwrite everything by trying to take a bunch of pictures on a corrupt card.

If the camera itself is broken, just buy a memory card reader and get the pictures off through a computer or you can just go to a photo kiosk at any pharmacy. If you want to fix the camera, buy the parts online or buy that identical used camera from eBay in an As-is auction for next to nothing and swap parts with your own. Personally, I would just buy a new camera though. They're cheap.

When i switch on my camera it shows "memory card

There is possible two things that are preventing you from using the memory card first there is a small switch on the side of the SD card I'm providing a diagram to show you. Make sure the little switch is in the correct position.

Next and most probably the main thing is the memory card needs to be formatted to the camera it is being used in. Formatting some times called initializing prepares the memory card surface to receive camera data and picture files. Formatting should be done each time a new memory card is going to be used in a camera and after each time the picture files are downloaded to the computer.

If you have been using this card and only deleting the picture files what has happened is that there is a small file left on the card each time you delete after a time these little files clog the memory card to a point the card can not receive any new data. Formatting is the way to clear off all this impertinent data and start fresh.

Cheers have fun with your camera.

I accidently formatted my SD card. Can I get the photos back?

If you haven't added any pictures to the card there are several programs you can try to get the photos back. A lot of them you can download and use to see if they can get any of the pictures but need to buy the software to actually recover the pictures but at least you will know first if it can get your pictures back.
Here is one example:

Please see my previous post concerning the Vivitar 8010. Also, you need an SD Memory Card for this camera. The entire Owner's Manual can be found online at User Manual.pdf. Hope this helps. It's a fun little camera!

Fuji FinePix A210 contacts are messing up the picture card

Have you been in a high humidity environment? Did you use the camera in cold weather and then brought it in to a warm room so moisture condensed inside? If the problem keeps recurring, I suspect mold in the camera. If so, repair could be expensive.

PNY SDHC 4GB memory card

Hey Teelo,
I would try reinstalling your software, or updating your drivers. You could also try getting a card reader that connects to a USB port and try transferring your images with that instead of connecting the camera directly to the computer. I also have included a link to the manufacturer where you can download the latest version of your software, and troubleshoot your issue if still needed. I hope this helps!

Canon A570

Hey ALMiller,
What it sounds like is you have a faulty sensor, and you should have the camera looked at by an authorized service technician. You could bring it to a Geek Squad® precinct in a Best Buy™ store and they could send it out to a service center. As far as the no memory card message I would try cleaning the memory card contacts. I hope this helps!

Your camera takes a secure Digital card. you can purchase them at Staples for around $13 for a 1gb card. The cable is a USB 2.0 A Male to Mini USB B 5-pin.

Initializing of xD-Picture card

The S3000 has a 512MB limit according to Fuji. Ther is also no firmware upgrade to address this issue. However I loaded a 1GB Olympus M type card into th S3000, which was pre-fornatted and worked straight away. After putting the card into the reader in my laptop, and then returning to the camera, the camera identified the card as not initialized. I tried to format the card in the camera but this didn't work.

To fix this I connected the camera to the computer using the USB cable located the camera card via My Computer, left clicked on and did a quick format in FAT (FAT16). After this the camera read the card and indicated 1305 frames available at 3M.
