Hi you have a wet wall fridge! This means that the water needs to escape to the rear of the appliance to evaporate on top of the commpressor! So get yourself a Cable tie/ Zip tie and put it in the drain hole in the back of the fridge and give it a good wiggle around! This shoul cuer the problem. Then just to make sure pour some hot water down there to then ou will know if the trck has worked..
Good luck......

Defrost condensate not draining

Make sure the water goes down the drain quickly. If the drain is a little clogged it may not be draining fast enough, letting it freeze before it drains. I use compressed air at a low psi to clear the drain from the freezer compartment. Does the refrig have an ice maker?? If the water is spilling over the fill tube behind the freezer panel it will also ice over the drain. Also sometimes drains just ice up for no apparent reason. I deice them and then they work fine. You can also take a piece of romex wire (the solid copper strand type) use the ground wire (bare copper) or strip the insulation off the black or white wires and loop the wire over the defrost heater and down into the drain hole. This will help any ice that builds up around the drain to melt in the defrost cycles. Let me know how it turns out.

Ice build-up on the bottom of the freezer drawer

Water on the freezer floor has only two sources, 1) ice maker overflow/leak, or 2) defrost drain plugged. For the first you can turn off the ice maker and shut off the supply water for a few days to see if the problem recurs. If this is the problem determine if the water fill valve leaks or the ice maker is the problem and replace the offender. For the second, thaw out and clear all the ice, paying special attention to the drain located under the freezer (cooling) coil. Then clear the blockage from the drain tube. BE CAREFUL AND DO NOT USE WIRE OR SHARP ITEMS as this can pierce a hole in the drain requiring replacement, not something you want to do or pay for. A turkey baster and hot water are useful tools to flush out the blockage allowing water to drain freely into the defrost drain pan under the refrigerator.

I have a Amana Bottom Freezer Refrigerator Model BC20ML that is about 20 yr.s old, works fine except the drain tube from refrig. compartment to evaporator drain pan sames to be plugged. Water and ice...

You have to remove the bottom drawer, remove one of the drawer slider mounts on the freezer wall, and remove the rear panel. If yours has an ice maker you will have to disconnect it and remove it also. Unplug it so the water valve does not dump water on you while you are working inside.

Maytag fridge water dripping from inside freezer side

This sounds like the evaporator drain may be clogged either in the freexer compartment or at the outlet to the drain pan under the unit. Every defrost cycle the defrost element makes water by melting the ice on the evaporator coils. If the drain is clogged there is no other place for the ice to go. Many times the drain may just have ice buildup in the evaporator drain funnel that can be corrected with a manual defrosting.

To do this manual defrosting all you do is first unplug the unit then remove everything from the freezer compartment. After that place a fan blowing into the freezer section for a little over 2 hours. Please NOTE this will make more of that pesky water mess so be ready to tend to the mess as it presents itself.

After the 2 hour fan session plug the unit back in and reload the freezer compartment with previous content. Monitor for the possibility of the water manifeting itself again.

In addidtion to the above there is a drain pan catch basin in the bottom of the unit near the compressor. They are usually white plastic on Maytag units and not to rugged. Make sure that the drain pan is not loaded with debris. There is about a 1/2 inch diameter opaque plastic line that drains into the catch basin. That is the Evaporator darin tube. Ensure the very end of the tube does not have caked up debris in the very end of the tube. Sometimes this tube cakes up and then the debris dries hard inside the tube near the end. Make sure the tube is free of foreign objects and clean.

After all of the above / cleaning and clearing / manual defrosting it is still making water then most likely the lower panel under the defrosting element / evaporator may have become disconnected allowing defrost cycle water from the melted ice into the freezer compartment vs exit via the drain. To fix the disconnected power metal panel problem the rear freezer panel would have to removed to re-attach / repair the metal panel that guides the water into the evaporator drain.

My Maytag wide by side is leaking water from the

Yes. Your defrost drain hole in the lower rear of the freezer is frozen over with ice. Turn off the fridge. Remove the shelves and bins from the freezer side. Break up any ice on the floor of the freezer and dispose of it. Use a hair dryer to melt the ice over the drain hole in the rear portion of the freezer. Once it is clear pour a 1/4 cup of bleach into the drain hole.

Water drains internally at back of freezer drawer

Check the drain.

Take the bottom drawer out of the freezer and look in the very back for a drain hole. It may be covered with ice. A hair dryer will melt the ice so you can unclog the drain.

Falling water hits something hot in freezer and causes sizzle sound

the sizzling noise is water hitting the defrost elememt and this is normal - shows the defrost system is working. if water comes on the floor of the freezer, this may be the drain for the defrost water is blocked. remove the freexer back panel and the drain is in the tray where the defrost water is caught. if it is blocked - usually with ice - clear it with hot water and make sure the water drains freely. takes some patience and maybe several attempts
