Question about Casio QV-5700 Digital Camera

Open Question

Power shut-down CASIO QV-5700

After I turned on my QV-5700 camera the display shows a low battery status and the camera turns off after a secound. I've tried 3 complete sets of batteries always with the same result. I also tried to start without the memory chip but the same problem appeared again.

I didn't use the camera for 3 months. Before today it always works fine without any problems.

Thanks for your answers in advance.

Regards,
Marcel

Taping the the door is about all you can do. n Battery short life may be another issue -what type of batteries are you using? Ni-Cad or NiMah are the only acceptable AA type cells[Alkaline do not have the oomph] Coming back the to door, there will not be a repair answer to this I feel- there as usually no spare parts availability. Try the Casio Tech Support- you never know your luck

To tell you the truth.....NO. You can buy a new casio camera for cheaper than fixing your old QV. Alot of times too the QV isn't going to be compatible with XP or VISTA.

This may not do anything, and you may have already thought of this, but here goes...

1. Take out the SD card if you have one in the camera.

2. Remove the batteries and leave them out for 24 hours. Put in GOOD batteries and DO NOT PUT THE SD CARD BACK IN THE CAMERA.

3. Power up the camera. See what happens.
If you face the same problem then you have to reinstall the fireware from service center. Thanks.

My casio elexim has a system error 0e01. Thanks. Irene.

Please download a backup of the firmware from this site: http://www.oborona.net/stuff/qv-r40/QV-R40.zip
Turn off your camera. Press down "Menu" and "Disp" simultaneously and hold down, then press the power button until the camera turns on. The display will now display some tech gibberish. Quickly press the ring joystick right 2 times, then press "Menu" again.
You should now be in the engineering menu of the camera. Please do not change settings in here. Now the camera can be connected to the PC via USB. Place the file from the start on the camera.
Disconnect your camera and turn it off. Hold the "Menu" button down and turn the camera on.
You should see "PROGRAM UPDATE" on the display. Select "Yes" and wait for 30-60 seconds, while the camera starts flashing.
Your camera should now be fully functional again.

I have a Casio QV-R41 camera and it won't turn on

Hi,

Just do the following steps which is very simple to fix your problem. Take a paper clip and if you look in the battery casing there will be three brass conductors if thats what you call them. Just bent them up to make sure that there is contact between the battery and the metal positive and negative and it will work for you.

Thank you !!
