I pickedup a hunter fan with lights from a yard sale. I have three wires a red white black and a copper uncoated ( earthing) which is attached to the cealing. The fan has two black and one white from the cealing fan. I treid to touch all the wires from the fan to the ones on the cealing in all possible way, but i couldent see any movement in the fan. Is something wrong with the fan?

I am having a similar problem with a remote installation. I installed the ceiling fan and everything worked fine. I have a dual switch at the wall, one for the light and one for the fan. When I connected the remote transmitter I can not get the lights to come on. Where does the black and white stripe wire connect to?

White wire is connected to white, solid black to black and red to red. The black and white wire from the fan has no instruction on where to connect.

For the fan alone, you hook the black wire from the fan to the black wire in your electrical box; white to white. If there is a red wire it's for the light, hook it to the black wire from the box. If you let us know what wires are available in your box and what's coming out of the fan and whether the fan has a light and whether the box is wired for separate lighting, we could go a long way towards solving your problem in more definitive terms. Hunter is a premium fan, their package directions are good.

I have a similar problem. The original homeowner installed separate wires for the fan switch and the light switch. For the light switch, I have white, black and ground. For the fan switch, I have white and black. So that is five wires from the ceiling. The fan and light kit have a total of four wires: black, white, white and black and ground. I have attached white to white (light), white and black to white (fan), ground to ground and tied all the blacks together. The light works fine with the dimmer control. The fan operates, but does not respond to the wall switch. Any ideas?

Hunter ceiling fan, replacing speed switch, what wire goes to the L, 1, 2, and 3?

I can only guess since I don't know what model or what color wires you have. Here's wiring for single stack switch on some Hunters;

L- black
1 - grey
2 - brown
3 - green
Hope this helps.

Hunter ceiling fan fan is working but lights are not

Make sure light wire is connected at the ceiling & at the bottom. Otherwise it's probably the receiver. 1-888-830-1326 ( Hunter parts )

I am having a problem adding a hunter 28550 light to my existing hunter ceiling fan. The fan works fine but I can not get the light to work.

It's possible whoever installed the fan originally, did not connect the black/white striped wire to the electric box. Drop the ceiling canopy and let me know what you find.

Im installing a hunter remote control receiver in the ceiling mount. I have a red, black, white and ground wire from the ceiling. Which wire on the reciever do I connect the red wire to?

The red wire in the ceiling is probably used in a shared neutral circuit and not needed for the fan. If it's not capped off already, it should be.

Just use black, white and ground from the ceiling.

Hunter ceiling fan-just installed -possible speed control problem

Sounds like the fan is defective. All internal wiring from the switch to the motor is factory installed. The fan has power going to it. Just to make sure, double check the wiring from the ceiling fixture to the fan.
Problem could be a faulty switch on the fan or faulty motor(bad winding for med. speed). Try reverse switch on the fan to operate the opposite direction and see if medium speed works. If medium does work in opposite direction, it pretty much points to a defective fan. In any case, unless you discover that the ceiling wires were reversed going into the fan, I'd say new fan to the returns dept.
