I have a onn lcd tv it wont switch from standby transformer is a 12v 5amp i plugged another transformer in and worked i just need to no which part of the transformer is faulty so i can replace the part, the broken transformer lights up the stand by light but will not boot up the tv when pressed to switch on can you help the transformer model is
I had a very similar problem with mine. The blue LED light came on, but the TV would not switch on from standby with the remote or by pressing the buttons. After getting frustrated, I held down the remote and the blue LED changed from being bright to very dim and I could hear, very feintly, a sound from inside the TV like a flourescent light trying to 'strike'. I kept the button pressed and the TV switched on eventually but the screen was just fuzzy (no picture), then it changed to blue with the input source being shown then it switched off.
I took the back off (with the TV unplugged!) and had a look at the wiring between the circuit boards making sure that they were all still sound. Most of the circuit boards are soldered by machine, but the transformer board looked like the major components were done by hand and some of the connections on the transformer looked iffy. With a small screwdriver, I made sure that the pins on the transformer were separated (except where two pins were obviously meant to be soldered together) and put everything back together.
I'm not an electronics expert by any means and no doubt someone will say that you shouldn't go poking around inside a TV with a screwdriver, but it worked...!

Change battery and see. Look for any jammed buttons on the remote and/or on the control panel of TV. If you have removed the plug, when the TV was in standby mode, sometimes the system controller could not have got time to reset. Try using the control panel buttons and see whether the TV responds. If not, switch it off manually, switch off power and remove plug and retry after 48 hours.
It is due to some internal fault in the board. Try switching off the TV manually, switch off power and remove plug, retry after 48 hours. If problem persists, please refer it to a qualified service technician.
As u mentioned about the click sound, the 5v standby supply is ok. The click sound you hear is from the standby relay. you have to check the other power supplies in the SMPS (switch mode power supply board) board. first of all check the standby supply 5v on tne pin of connector P800. check the voltage at this point in standby condition and at the time of power on. it should stay at 5v. if it reduces the you have to check the components related with standby SMPS transformer T501.
If the 5v volt is ok the u have to check the 3.4 v at the pin 1 and 2 of connector P802, at the time of power on. if it is missing then check the components related to T112 ,also check the following voltages at the same power on condition.
19v at Pin 1and 2 of P803 6v at the pin 5 and 6 of P802 12v at the pin 9and 10 of P802
check these to verify your tv's power supply proper care should be taken while working with power supply, because there is risk of getting electric shock. if you need any more assistance fell free to contact me through fixya. I have with me its field service manual ( does not have any schematics) if u need that i will sent it to you, if u give me your email id through fixya. ok
Check for buldging caps. Burn marks and discolorations around the components. I have found newer caps are failing around the bottom instead of bursting the tops. Check the voltages out to the mainboard to make sure they are where they should be. Another thing to do is reflow the solder on fets, transformers anything that looks broken, you can use a jewlers glass to check for these cracks.
