Question about Belkin (F5D7230-4) Router (587009)

Firmware update for belkin f5d7230-4 6000uk

I can only find the u.s version of this firmware is it the same as the u.k 1 or do i need the u.k version, if i only need the u.k version can u please tell me where to get it from. Thank you in antisipation.

Hi...the UK firmware for the F5D7230uk4 is on this page if this is correct for your model. There is also a guide to firmware upgrades here - the usual advice is to use a wired connection, backup current config if you can, make absolutely sure you have the right version etc...

I suggest You perform below step to update Belkin router as mention below,i hope your Belkin router issue resolve after performing Belkin router issue:

The router's firmware can be upgraded through its web-based setup page. Step 1:
Access the web-based setup page by opening a web browser such as Internet Explorer or Safari. On the Address bar, enter your router's local IP address then press [Enter].

NOTE:The Belkin router's default IP address is 192.168.2.1. If this doesn't work, check your router's IP address.

Step 2:
Click Login at the top-right corner of the page.

Step 3:
Enter your router's Password if you have one. Otherwise, leave the field blank then clickSubmit.

NOTE:By default, Belkin routers do not ship with a Password.

Step 4: On the Utilities section in the left navigation panel, click Firmware Update.

Step 6:
Select the firmware file and click Open.

NOTE:The firmware version in the image below is just an example. Your file name will vary depending on your model and version.

Step 7:
Click Update.

You will be prompted to continue with the upgrade. Click OK.

Step 9:
A prompt that advises you NOT to turn off or reboot the router at the end of the upgrade will appear. Click OK.

The firmware update status will then appear. Make sure that you DO NOT INTERRUPT OR UNPLUG THE ROUTER during the update process.

Step 10:
Once the update is complete, you will be prompted to wait for several seconds.

Click OK after the router is done rebooting.

Cannot connect to the firmware information server, please double check wan connection


You will have to update the firmware manually

Goto the website www.belkin.com/support

Click Routers

Under No 1 : Select N / G / B.... As given in the router

Under No 2 : Select the Model Number of the router

Under No 3 : Select the Version Number

Click next

Click on the link For firmware update ..... Download the appropriate version as your router

Save the file

on the address bar of internet explorer type http://192.168.2.1 and hit enter

On the left under utilities click firmware update

Leave the password blank and click submit

Click browse ,,, Locate the file you had downloaded and click update

Click OK For confirmation

Updating the Firmware
From time to time, Belkin may release new versions of the Router’s
firmware. Firmware updates contain feature improvements and fixes to
problems that may have existed. When Belkin releases new firmware,
you can download the firmware from the Belkin update website and
update your Router’s firmware to the latest version.

Checking for a New Version of Firmware
The “Check Firmware” (1) button allows you to instantly check for a new
version of firmware. When you click the button, a new browser window
will appear informing you that either no new firmware is available or that
there is a new version available. If a new version is available, you will
have the option to download it.
Downloading a New Version of Firmware
If you click the “Check Firmware” button and a new version of firmware
is available, you will see a screen similar to the one below:
1. To download the new version of firmware, click “Download

2. A window will open that allows you to select the location where
you want to save the firmware file. Select a location. You can
name the file anything you want, or use the default name. Be
sure to locate the file in a place where you can locate it yourself
later. When you have selected the location, click “Save”.
3. When the save is complete, you will see the following window.
Click “Close”.
The download of the firmware is complete. To update the firmware,
follow the next steps in “Updating the Router’s Firmware

download and save it in a folder...open internet explorer and type 192.168.2.1 in address bar...you ll login to the router setup page...

click on firmware update on the left hand bottom side....locate the firmware file saved on your computer....click update...you are done with that...make sure you download and update the firmware that is the appropriate version of your router... you can find the version number if you flip the router...
its stats wit "v" or "ver"....

1. all u need to do is download the firmware for ur router
2. most of the belkin products if u update the firmware it will work great
3. go to belkin.com/support and download the firmware. jus click on this site it will lead u to download ur version

5. open the belkin router setup page by 192.168.2.1 in the ie or firefox
6. in the left side click on firmware update then leave the password blank and click submit

Belkin (F5D7231-4) Wireless Router can't update


From http://www.belkin.com/support/, type the Belkin part number “F5D7231-4” in the “Search” field. Click “Search”

From the results page, click “F5D7231-4”.

Scroll down to the Software & Updates section. Click on "F5D7231-4 Firmware Update".

Locate the firmware that corresponds to you routers version number. To download the new version of firmware, click the download logo.

A window will open that allows you to select the location where you want to save the firmware file. Select a location. You can name the file anything you want, or use the default name. Be sure to save the file in a place where you can locate it later.

Note: We suggest saving this to your desktop to make it easy to locate the file. When you have selected the location, click “Save”.
The download of the firmware is complete. To update the firmware,
follow the next steps in “Updating the Router’s Firmware”.

Make sure that you have the router Wired to your computer before you continue with the firmware update instructions.
