Contact the Manufacturer for the Installation CD... they may charge you for it but it's cheaper than buying a new copy of XP... or look on ebay for a recovery cd but make sure it's for the same brand of computer or it wont work

I have a Toshiba A45-S121 laptop. I upgraded my hard drive from a 40GB hard drive to a 320GB Western Digital. Loaded Windows XP and formated drive in FPTS format. The computer rebooted to the hard drive...

Best possible solution put back your 40GB and try to get an external casing for your 320GB to see if it works. And try windows on NTFS instead of FPTS, so reformat your 320GB and install the Windows XP again.
I hope this solution is helpful.

Hi there, my problem is ,my windows xp can't startup. i thought my OS has problem, then i try to reformat it (reinstall winxp). the format process fail to complete as well. I try to format same HDD to...

you need to reinstall it completely ...but first check the ram memory ..sounds like a problem there ...If you tried to format during installation and didnt worked..or it worked to format the partition but it didnt let you load files..to start the actuall installation ..this is a issue of Ram memory ..(it may also give you blue screen errors..)
if you only tried to format it from the windows...there is an issue cause this is not possible for partitions with windows on it ...so you need a windows installation bootable cd and boot from it to reinstall and only then you will see if the issue is indeed with the Ram memory ..or was just plane ...bugged..
so ...if you do not have such a disk ..go here ..download a image ..and burn it by double clcik on it ..(using nero for file association ) ..on a new blank cd-r
after that select the first boot device...(in bios) cd /dvd and restart and see whats going on ...if it fails loading files..it is the Ram memory to blame ..or the Hdd..but if the hdd accepted to be installed in another computer ..it only remain the Ram..
here is the image ...use utorrent to download

Computer

You should be able to use the windows disc to repair the installation. If you have the disc in the cd rom drive and re-boot the computer you should get a "boot from cd press any key" that will only appear for a few seconds. If you do not press any key than you will get the error again. If it is not asking you to boot from the cd than you may have to go into the computer BIOS and change the boot sequence settings so the cd-rom drive is the first bootable device. When you press any key on re-boot the windows selection screen should come up and you will be able to select to repair installation. Just be aware if this error was caused by a virus it may not repair properly or happen again.

Unable to reinstall windows xp

try it again with the bootable floppy disk... if you have the option use fdisk /mbr and then format the computer and reinstall using the cd you have. the fdisk /mbr command will get rid of any virus residing in your master boot record.

Can't restart PC (with Windows XP ) after suspected virus attack.

You have been badly virus'ed.
Get your disk to "repair" windows.
If possible, defrag computer using a cd boot linux if needed.
If alll else fails then copy all your good files onto a drive and format.
Reinstall
Do not get any software, you will probably lose money for something that will not work.

I lost my installation CD! What Can I Do?

Hi DUMi56, loacated somewhere on your case is a Microsoft CD key & the version of windows. You can use anyones windows CD that matches your version. Ex: Window XP home editio, XP pro edition or Media Edition. When it comes time to enter the cd-key you use your key printed on the MS sitcker. As far as drivers go Gigabyte only provides the needed *.inf files since windows supplies the rest. You can download all your driver software from the link provided below.

http://www.giga-byte.com/Products/Motherboard/Products_Spec.aspx?ProductID=1385

If you have a CD or DVD burner I suggest you burn the driver/inf file, manual & bios files incase you ever need them again.

If I can be of more service, just ask.
Good Luck & have a Great Weekend!
