You will need the driver disk that came with the speakers, or you'll need to download them from the Dell support website. Once you have the driver install it following onscreen directions. Speakers should then be reinstalled. Hope this helps & please remember to rate my answer. Thanks.

My speakers on my dell dont work theres a red x button by the speakers saying its not plugged in but it is

Double check the connections are correct, try uninstall and then reinstall the audio drivers. Make sure you have the Audio drivers to reinstall 1st... You can find a copy of the Audio drivers from dell for your Motherboard to download if you no longer have the disk.
Thumbs up please if this helps you out thanks.

No Audio Device?

Check in hardware manager that the audio system has been installed and is working. If it does not show in hardware manager, check in the system BIOS that the audio system is turned on. If turning on the audio system does not work, uninstall any drivers for the audio system and re-install the correct drivers. If you are using Windows XP, try and get the update software to install the updated drivers for you otherwise, go to the Dell website, input the PC's model and revision numbers and download the drivers from there.
