Question about Philips Magnavox 9P6034C 60" Rear Projection Television
Hello... My convergence on my model#9P6040C101.. The top and bottom of the screen is bowed in. Also I see all three colors and I see triple vision. I had a TV repairman take a look at it and he told me that convergence ic's were shot because they get very hot and quit working??? He never told me which ones they were and he wanted to charge me $350.00 to fix it. Wow! What I wanted to know which are the ones I need to replace, where can I order them at a very inexpensive price and can I replace them myself without a soldering tool??? Thank you, Cliff
They are large black colored IC's with the markings of STK392-xxx (xxx could be 110,120,150) There could be open resistors as well and you have to make sure if you do replace the IC's that you apply heat sink compond to the back of them otherwise they will prematurely fail.
