Question about Protron PLTV3250 32 in. LCD Television

I just contacted Lawyers and Settlements . com

I told them to search this sight and Ripoff . com about all the complaints. Hopefully, they can help us all. I will be contacting ShopNBC and telling them I will NOT make another payment on these TV's. I bought them in 2006 and payment was deferred until this year.

well, hopefully lawyers and settlement.com can put together a class action suit against these theives. They are no longer under warranty and if you read all th posts about these tv's you'll know why I'm fed up. If they were under warranty, there IS NO COMPANY anymore.

Yea, I think it's under another name, but I haven't done thorough research yet, but I will. I was not yelling at you, just pointing out that ShopNBC sold us TV's that were no good from Protron who got in trouble for using the "real" Protron company name and so far that's what I've come up with.

You will waste more money doing this then just eating it.You will only come out ahead it is still under warranty.Best thing is just go to walmart and buy new one,,sorry I hate walmart but at the moment they are trying too destroy all business's so they have the lowest price going, unless your willing to buy a refurbished tv. If the warranty
is over and you don't pay, you will be in default. They do not have to do anything if the warranty is over....

Sorry, I just gave you a generic answer because that is how it usually works,,,now if the company is gone and no one bought it there is no one to sue,,but if someone bought the company you could have a chance,,,,good luck,,,I hope it works out for you,, But no matter
what, its too bad all the problems you have too go through just too get what you deserve,,

You mention this is a "Protron"? The real brand name is "Proton", if it wasn't a typo on your part, I think you bought cheap knockoff. Here is Proton's web site www.protonav.com/
I had a problem with my Zenith 60 inch LCD TV , Zenith was ought by LG. I had a major problem, they apparently were sued and I was able to get my out of warranty, not too old TV that required $3000 of repair for free.
I found I had to call customer service and tell them I had heard that my TV was being repaired , all that was required is that I provided proof that I purchased the TV
Not sure if this is a help, but hopefully gives you some options or ideas as to how to resolve your issue.

If you wish to get more; check the sites linked here. It has set-up code list & set-up procedure to many popular brand remote controls. One among it has general set-up codes to check with TVs and other devices are given, in the order of the 'device's brand name list' in alphabetical order. Pull up older posts. Search the sites by type in the brand name to your device in its search box at the top right part of the display window. It will help you to find the document easily.

Why does FIXYA have the exact title listed in your search engine and when you open their link there is NO mention of what you are looking for...Nothing but unrelated Fluff !! Is it just me, or does this...

It is an attempt to get people to post a question here and hopefully get help--it also generates hits for the site--

When searching try to word the search to avoid what you do not want--some will Google looking for a owner manual when should Google with model number and just "manual".

There are other forums on the net but it can take time when searching to use the right keywords(search engines will find this site as it keys on many specific words).

As an expert who answers questions here (average of 300 a week for free) the other side of the coin is many post questions here with little or no basic information--brand-model number--clear description etc.

I had someone looking here and over the entire internet for a owner manual or explanation of why remote and keys on set would not function--no brand or model--when asked told me had manual but nothing in there helped--took a few minutes to locate that owner manual and on page 29 was the info he needed---told him and also commented nicely--if all else fails read the manual.

Reply within minutes was--OPPs and thanks--problem resolved.

Not all problems can be solved or answered depending on equipment or number of experts available.

If you have a TV with a problem feel free to post it here Attention
SD TECH with brand, model and as good a description as possible and I will attempt to help.

I have a SONY Bravia tv and DISH network satelite. I have intermitent problems with the sound and Picture when I turn the set on (no volume) (pink picture). I must then turn it off and on again and it...

If they never gave you a written disclaimer about equipment that is incompatible with their service then tell them that your contract is not valid and you will not pay them. Because of your specific issue you are not actually receiving the service that they are getting your money for. You're paying full price just for the signal to be sent to you.
If they again refuse to cancel the service without penalty or alter it to be compatible with your TV then contact the Better Business Bureau and file a complaint.
Any trouble beyond that let me know I'll connect you with my brother who is a lawyer.

Picture goes black

are you using the built in tuner or a set-top-box? Or watching DVDs when this happens? Are they connected through SCART?
First check the cables which lead the signal -antenna/satellite/cable if they are not broken or with damaged connectors.
Scart cables sometimes tend to have too heavy and stiff leads for the weak SCART plugs. This is NOT an issue with HDMi sVHS or any other.
If it's none of these the problem is probably a power lead of the screen and if you don't feel like opening the back of the box, it would be just fine to take it over to a repair shop or to the centre where you bought it if you still have a warranty.
if not find a Sanyo service near your location(refer to http://sanyo.com/ ) or take it to any home electronics repair shop.

I have an Olevia also and it's the same way. I spent about an hour and a half on hold for tech support only to be told, "That's the way it is." Oh, he also said, "Thanks for buying our product. Happy day to you!" So every time I turn it on I think, "Happy day to you!" and by the time I'm done laughing the logo's gone! Hope this helps. ''HAPPY DAY TO YOU!"
