Hitachi 50EX20B Bigscreen TV

10yrs of Flawless use until about 2-3 months ago...Problem started with TV set shutting itself off for 3 to 10 seconds, then coming back on (without any imput from us!!)...this occured Rarely (week/10 days) at first and gradually more frequently (and stayed "OFF" longer) until TV would no longer power up again (on its own),,without us repeatedly pushing on/off button....Unplugging and allowing TV to cool off(few hrs or overnight) seemed to help BEFORE, but now TV will not turn on at all!! Cleaned much dust "gently" (while Unplugged),fuse OK,....Red LED (power supply??)on main circuit board flashes momentarily (2-3secs)---then stays ON....BUT , 5 "other" green LED's @ various places on main circuit board Do Not Light Up (with power on)....Also,Red LED light (on the Channel/Volume selector) does not light up and shuts down when the TV shuts down...A320 Aircraft tech ,hoping I can troubleshoot/fix this...Best place to get a PDF service manual AND Expert advice Greatly Appreciated...Thanks

I found 2 lizards in below the power supply board. Removing the lizard and clean the board but still the led is blinking up and down. So what can be the fault.

Lamp turns-on and off

lamp ballast and/or power supply is going. the ballast has to boost the charge up to 140 vdc, and after it's up to it full strength, it drops down to 40vdc to maintain. if the ballast can't get up to the proper voltage, it shuts down. or the lamp itself will not hold the voltage, and therefore needs replacing.

HITACHI BIGSCREEN TV MDL 57TWX20B APPROX 4-5 YEARS OLD...TV SHUT DOWN WHILE WATCHING AND WON'T POWER BACK UP

This can be one of two problems. 1: convergence output ic's need to be replaced. 2: The problem is in the power supply, most likely a power diode.

Both problems you will need to take it two a repair shop.

TV shuts off

I would suggest that you guys turn the unit off when this happens, unplug the unit for 30 seconds, plug it back in, and see if this helps. If this does not solve your problem, you should call 1-800-448-2244, so a service center in your local area can be found for further assistance.
