Masterbuilt Model # SQPGD - Low flame

I have the above referenced BBQ and regardless of the position of the knob the flame is always very low. Is this a problem with the regulator? Can someone please help me figure out the problem.

It sure sounds like it's blocked. Purchase a venturi tube cleaner (about $5) or try removing it and lightly tap on the ground to try and unplug the little holes that have filled with debris. If you have access to some air tools, try blowing it out-similar to an air filter of a car.

You can buy a gas pressure guage from any HVAC supply house, and possibly at a gas utility office or the retailer that sold the grill.

It taps into the manifold, or gas valve.

For most LP systems you are looking for 11 to 14 PSI but double check with your system. You may can find it on the owners manual or on the data sticker.

Be shure to shut off the gas before you remove the plug and hook up the guage. Most plugs are either allen wrench or square head plugs.

SOURCE: BBQ LOW FLAME WHEN ON

Your frustration is common because the new tanks all have a safety feature built into them which is a pain in the you know what. Unscrew the tank to reset the safety valve and then screw it in again. That should result in the valve being in the open position and working for you.

Won't light properly or vary the flame

Hello,
You're probably turning the LP tank valve on too fast. Close the tank valve, disconnect it and reconnect it. Then very slowly turn on the tank valve. Make sure all your grill knobs are closed. Light one at a time and turn to low setting. After they are all lit, slowly turn up the heat on each as needed. Hope this helps. Douglas

The difference between the flame bowl and water bowl

You want the wood chips above the heat source and then the liquid above that. The heat source smolders the wood whilst the liquid keeps the meat moist. Remember you want a very low heat.

New electric smoker no instructions!

Put some water soaked hickory chips and some liquid smoke with chicken stock or pinot grigio wine or both in the pan above the heater element. Put yer rubbed and marinated meat in top above the wood mix. Plug it in. Pop a top on a cold brew of yer choice. :D The idea here is low and slow. You want the meat to be at or around 200 and the smoke to flavor the meat. This ain't no grill in 30 and eat, it is a low and slow smoker. It takes all night or day to cook stuff correctly. Low and slow my nizzle :D Party on! What time do we eat? Saturday? You betta get started. LOL

Veranda gas grill - won't light or low flame

One of the major problems with propane gas grills, including the Masterbuilt Veranda, is the pressure regulator. They get to where they do not release enough propane. Some, most, have an adjustment screw that will let you correct these problems. I think I replaced my Veranda regulator with another older pressure regulator from an old grill. Makes you crazy if you don't know this.

No gas getting to bbq

I switched to the new style 20# tank with the new turn-on knob.  I couldn't get enough gas pressure to the BBQ burners for all three burners to light or to keep a strong flame on even one burner.  The new style tanks have a safety valve on the inside of the tank that shuts the gas off if you turn the knob on too fast because the safety valve thinks there is leak.  Shut everything off and then try turning the knob on real slow, especially at first, before turning it all the way on.  If that doesn't work (it didn't for me), then replace the large plastic connection valve knob (female end) that attaches the regulator to the tank.  Mine was for the old style tank and was black (low pressure).  I went to a propane company and had them replace it with a green knob (higher pressure).  Took it home and WALA!  Everything works fine now.  But it was very frustrating trying to figure why I couldn't get any gas to the burners after buying a brand new tank.  I hope this helps solve your problems.
