Can I upgrade my DV7-2173cl processor to one that supports virtualization (vt-x or vt-d). Processor is: 2.00 GHz Intel Centrino 2 Processor Technology featuring Intel Core2 Duo Processor P7350

Would be quite challenging. From cost perspective it may be good to get a new laptop rather than trying to upgrade. Also the n1000c is rather old and compaq or HP doesnt support it. So perhaps you can consider investing in a new laptop :)

Want to upgrade my HP TouchSmart IQ504 Desktop PC 2.0GHz processor for a 3.1 ghz ?

First, have you ever changed/upgraded a CPU? It take quite a bit of research to upgrage. If you look at this spec of the Mobo your options are very limited, The Mobo only supports 2 different type Processors, 1, Core 2 Duo (Merom); http://ark.intel.com/products/codename/2683/Merom , 2 Core 2 Duo (Penryn): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Penryn_(microprocessor) If you have a 64bit OS consider a memory upgrade, if you haven't already. I want to buy a laptop. Please suggest me which processor is best? ie. Intel pentium processor or intel pentium dual core processor? Will intel pentium dual core processor overheat easily?

hello,,,,,,,,,,,,,
First you need to be clear that dual core is the family of Pentium series. so there is no processor called Pentium.............. now regarding your question i would suggest you do not go for dual core... Take core 2 duo or I3 /I5/I7 series of processor..............
I am giving you a configuration in a good budget

Rs 50,800/-
Intel 3 GHZ Core2 Duo Processor,3 GB DDR2/DDR3 RAM, and a 250/320/500 GB HDD. DVD writer, 15.4-inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 800 dpi. integrated Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100 video card, integrated modem and sound card, Wifi, Touchpad mouse and in-built speakers. It has interfaces like Express Card slot, S-Video port, 4 USB ports, Firewire port, bluetooth and a 6 in 1 Digital Media Reader. The laptop comes with an inbuilt camera .

It would be better if you can tell me your budget ............... So that i can give you a good configuration ......................

Most laptops you can buy for under 1500 and it will have most of the stuff that this sony has, your paying for the name honestly.

Keep in mind it is a intel core2 duo processor so thats the main reason why the price is up. Unless your running high end programs, stay away from this laptop.

Hi, I have HP dv4000 model, Intel Pentium 1.60 GHz processors, Can I upgrade the processor? And what is the maximum upgrade for the processor? Regards, for more details and features...

According to the service manual, these are the processors your notebook will handle:

Part#
Intel Pentium M 2.13-GHz 396700-001
Intel Pentium M 2.00-GHz 396699-001
Intel Pentium M 1.86-GHz 393327-001
Intel Pentium M 1.73-GHz 383474-001
Intel Pentium M 1.60-GHz 383473-001 and 396698-001

Intel Celeron M 1.50-GHz 383471-001
Intel Celeron M 1.40-GHz 396697-001
Intel Celeron M 1.30-GHz 389036-001

So it looks like the Pentium 2.13GHZ is the top one.

Here is a link to the service manual for reference: This is on page 5-24.

Thanks fro using Fixya. A Fixya rating would be most appreciated.
