SOURCE: motor not running in Asko 10504 washing machine

The motor might have burned out. Another possibility would be a partially fried control board.

hi

usally the brushes are at the back of the motor but depending on motor they could be inside . to get to these you need to remove the 4 screws wich hold motor together. but 1st thing to check is to look at armitor on motor and see if you can see a line going round in the middle. if there is the motor will probley need to be replaced as the motor will have burnt out. but motors are very expensive o these machines. hope this helps

Where to get new motor Carbon brushes error f06

Have you already removed the motor and dismantled it to check the brushes. It is unusual to find a universal motor (that uses brushes) in a washing machine. Normally they use an induction motor that does not have brushes.

How do I change the brushes on my washing machine?

Hi Shirley

Well, If you are talking about the brushes (electrical brushes) which are inside the main drive electric motor.?
Then firstly I would check to see if this motor has brushes.
Most AC motors don't use brushes on a copper commutator.
Electric motor Wikipedia the free encyclopedia
They do however use a large external capacitor to kick start them in a particular direction and these can go bad.
AC motor Wikipedia the free encyclopedia
They often sit there & hum and can be push started. Not with the fingers or hand. A wood stick on the belt drive. But thats just to prove that it will work when the Cap is replaced.
This is better done on a work bench.
motor start capacitor
But... if you know that the motor has internal brushes you still have to take the motor out & pull the back end off to see & change the brushes.
So, either way, you will have to get access to the machine to remove the motor. While there check for a tin can attached close to the motor (the Capacitor)
Usually a job for an Electrician so be careful to disconnect from the power before opening the machine. Water & Electricity can be deadly.

Good Luck
Cheers

How to locate the washing machine brushes?

Some motors do not have carbon Brushes as its a induction motor as a opposed to a reaction motor which does have, not sure about your model but you could check this first, if it does have a brush kit fitted they should be easy to identify and remove if on the other hand no brushes then you would need to fit a new motor. On the bosch the brushes can be hidden look at the back of the motor ,you will see two wires one for each brush connected. Good luck.

When was the last time you changed the brushes on the motor? Check the brushes by removing the motor and then the brushes. The brushes should have at least 15mm left on them. Use compressed air and blow out the motor.

UNPLUG THE MACHINE BEFORE CHECKING!

It is Usually the Brushes on the Motor that cause the problem. The Brushes DO wear out on all Brush Motor washing machines eventually. How quick depends on USE and Manufacturer.

In my experience Most Bosch Brushes last between 3 - 8 years before requiring renewal. You will need to remove the brushes to check how much carbon is remaining.

Replacement Brushes are available. It would help if you provided your E.NR ( number ) which you will find on a label on the inside of the Door.
