MY RCA DRC 8320n DVD Recorder/VCR Combo will not accept tapes. DVD works fine. RCA help line is a joke. I will never buy another RCA product.

Yah, you're going to be taking that in for repair. I worked for couple of years at RCA / Sony / Panasonic / ... and 60 more names - service center. When a VHS Cassette loading mechanism doesn't work - it probably needs loading motor or loading gear, something repaired. At the cost of DVD and VHS combos these days I'd call it Not Worth Repair (NWR) out of the starting gate. At least $50 an hour, at least 2 hours ... that's beyond the cost of a new one.

My RCA DRC 8335 won't turn on, it justs keep saying "HELLO". What could be the problem? Have unpluged for more than 48 hours hoping it would reset it's self. DIDN'T. Was starting to have problems with it...

The problem is with a capacitor on the power supply that is too small and blows out. Its number c226 on the power supply, it is rated to be 16v, but that is too small. So all you have to do is go to radioshack or a store like that and get a replacement. I have fixed about ten of these systems and I found that it works best to use a 35v 470uf capacitor as the replacement. It costs about a dollar and a half. All you have to do is remove the power suply board find the capacitor number c226 and replace it with the bigger one. It is an easy fix that works great.

I purchased a RCA DRC-8335 DVD/VCR RECORDER COMBO

For anyone who has an RCA DRC 8335 with dvd Recorder, here is a suggestion.
If your tapes have been recorded in SLP Mode, om another player, I can tell you they will NOT play on this thing!!
So, merely take another VCR, and a blank tape, Place the blank tape into the RCA DRC 8335 VCR side, and then, go to its Set-Up Menu, and go to OUTPUT. On the "ACTION BAR"Change the the RCA's output to "FRONT" and then, play the VCRr you stuck on top of the RCA!!
When the inage on the "Source tape is shown,
Record onto the RCA, in SLP Mode, Now, it will play, just fine.
Hope this helps. Jon (Found BY Accident!!)

VHS -DVD RCA Flashes in blue color

if i understand your statement, you are having an issue copying either VHS to DVD or vice versa, most media today has built in copyright protection to prevent what you are trying to do, there are PC softwares to bypass these, but you will have to hook the player to your PC using a TV Tuner, or an Application called VHS to DVD or something similar,

Connect DVD recorder to Video player/recorder- transfer VHStodisc

hook the video output from vcr to dvd input at rear, then hook output from dvd to tv input. note; you can not record protected vcr movies you can only record tv shows from sattelite to vcr or dvd recorder. its best to record straight from sattelite to dvd recorder for picture clarity.

Nothing Happens but "hello" unless I unplug.

This model seems to have myriad problems and I suspect that it was made in China since the VCR market is fading quickly. If you manage to find warranty info, I'm sure it will require a receipt and probably was only warranted for 90 days as is common with all of our junk consumer stuff these days. The RCA that built that machine isn't the one we remember. I'm sorry for us all-

Rca DRC 8335 dvd/vcr combo --VCR tape stuck. won't go in and engage or eject. Unplugging doesn't work.

Call this number 877 805 0519

You need to have the model number (DRC 8335) and the serial number before you call.

Apparently this model has had a lot of problems as they have set up this number specificaly for this model. They will ask you a few questions and then they will send you another unit. You will to pay to ship it yourself. You should read the reviews on Amazon.com.

As for geting your VHS Tape out ...Hopefully when they send you a new machine they can send your tape back with it...but dont count on it.
