Question about Brother MFC-5460CN All-In-One InkJet Printer
When I tried to re-install the printer and do a "test print" my computer responded by saying my feeder might be jammed. So I checked my feeder and I saw nothing not even the tiniest piece of paper. I've also tried troubleshooting websites however no one had my problem so the answer was not available.I really really really need this printer to work. Can somebody PLEASE help me?!
thx infonet. Sorry for reading that you have another prob. Did you open the printer? In case yes, you might have disconnected the small plastic foil which leads the printhead (encoder strip). The foil is located paralell to the driving belt of the printhead. try to fix it in place again. Have a look at the foil (encoder strip): is it stained with ink? If yes you need a new encoder strip. If not you have to place the head on the leftside (where the three white disks are) You can pull the head up in that position and watch the encoder strip when pushing it back in place. Another reason could be that the head crashes somewhere on his cycling way: Open cover and press the two plastics by thumb (located on the other side of the arrow-knob facing to inside) to avoid : cover open message. Power up machine. watch the head cycling. Does it run the hole way from right to left side and back? Or does it stuck some where? Please write here where it stopps.

So dont let me be a withness of murderer:
There is no paper sicking within the machine! The jam had lifted the encoder strip out of the ph. After you have fixed it simppy stick some very thin scotch tape onto the ph cover to avoid further liftings (that will happen quite often...)
