SOURCE: Sylvania LC260SS8 -No power, will not turn on

The most likely your right, the TV has a power supply related problem.
I can't say it's 100% the problem because I can't actually look at the tv over the internet.
If by chance the TV is still under warranty, go that route.
If not under warranty and If you have some electronic experience, you can purchase a Service Manual over the internet and diagnose the source of the problem and fix it by soldering in the new part. The Service Manual will give you circuit diagrams, test points, and part# lists. Usually, cost under $20.

I hope I shed some light on the subject for you.

SOURCE: Remote Control Codes don't work with my LCD TV

There is no code!!! -- Solution...You have to buy a universal remote with learning capabilities. I’ve ordered one that will not only learn off other remotes but can handle 10 components also. I got it from 10x it’s called the iconRemote control…if you call the company they will give you a discount (but you have to call them and ask) AWESOME!

SOURCE: Cox Cable Remote wont program to my Sylvania LC320ss8 tv.

there are different codes for the devices that you are using. When you want to insert the code for the tv. > Switch tv on and then switch all the other devices off. Insert code. For digi box > switch on and all other devices off. Insert code for digibox. You must then switch between tv and digi box using the buttons on the top of the remote. Toggle between tv/ digi box.

Have a go with the codes below with the tv and the digibox both on, you never know you might get lucky as these are new codes, if not revert back to 1st solution.

Universal Codes (both should work using these, i think!!!!! try 'em)

002,
008,
155,
198,
227,
231

Here are the codes for the 1st solution.

Good Luck,

SOURCE: I have a Sylvania LC370SS8

I had a similar problem with my Phillips 42 in. LCD HD TV.

Here's the problem. The Power Supply Board. I opened my TV up(warranty was up of course) and found several bad capacitors. Phillips and several other companies were sold capacitors that although were highly rated failed within 5 years because of a lack of preservatives. All sorts of electronic equipment is now being effected due to these defective capacitors.
Solutions?
1. Take it in and have it fixed
2. Open it up, check the board for faulty capacitors(bulged or leaking) Buy a new Power supply board and install it.
3. Remove PSB, remove faulty capacitors and replace with compatible new ones.

Hope this helps

My Sylvania 32" Tv Model #SRT2232S won't turn

Hello
There is a fuse inside the power supply bard of your sylvania TV. Check whether it has blown out. If bllown out, replace it with same type bothe in size and amperage. If the newly inserted fuse also blow up as soon as you switch on the set, make sure that the power supply section has some short circuit in it, and should be cheked well. OK.

I have a 32" CRT Sylvania Tv that won't turn

Hello
If the TV doesn't turn ON ata all, it is surely due to some fault with its power supply regulator section. You haven't given any otehr details of your tV, than it is only a 32 inch CRT Sylvanial Tv. No model number; so I only can provide you a solution in general.
Check the ON-OFF switch for its contact. Normally, TVs uses DPST type switches [Double Pole Single Throw]. If any one contact amoung them have any problem with its internal contacts, the set won't switch ON. If the switch is OK, come towards the power regulator section circuit board, and check whether the fuse has blown out or not. If it has blown out, replace it with same type and ampere rating. Never use higher ampere rating than specified. The ampere rating will be maiked either on the rims of the fuse, or at the printed circuit board, just under the fuse. After repalcing the fuse, switch ON the TV and see whether it works well or the replaced fuse blows up as soon as you switch ON the set. If the repalced switch burns out as soon as you switch ON the set, the power supply section has damaged [shorted components in it]; and should be replaced.
Normally for LCD TVs it will be good to replace the power supply as card basis. This power regulator card can be bought from most of the electronic spare part shops at your town, orby the authorised service center for Sylvania at your town. If you may have given its model number, I could send you the picture of the power card of your TV. OK.

We have a Sylvania TV/VCR combo with a tape inside that won't eject. The result is that the TV shuts off after a couple of seconds. The model number is SSC192

Hello
The belts in the VCR mechanism should be replaced. They are loose and elongatee. Due to this, proper loading of casette won't take place. If so, the video casette will not load properly, willl stop at its middle, will cause a short for the secondary supply; and finally will shut down the TV, and that is happens now with your device now. The inserted casette wont come out. You ahve to open the system, and take the casette out manually by turning the mechanism. If you have enough knoledge you can do it by yoursef. If not get it repaired by any experienced service technician. Never switch ON and OFF this set at this condition. It will make mor faults to get in with power supply system. OK.

My sylvania hdtv model cl195sl9a won't work , when i turn it on the green light flash 12 times than nothing happened , there is sound but no picture please help thank you

Hello,

You need to check the output voltages of the power supply to see which one goes off. It may be due to short circuits some where, if otherwise, power supply board is dead, u know basic electronics' and soldering? Most of the times, the power supply board just have dead leakages gases capacitors. These capacitors always bulges up on it top,or puff up on it top.Replaced these gases leakages capacitors will get your TV power stable, and work again.Or tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a whole refurbish power supply board for the replacement.

Hope that this will help in solving the problem......
