Question about Delphi Roady XT XM Radio Receiver

Whinning noise with my delphi roadyxt

Last year I received a roadyxt as a gift. I started using it in my 2002 Toyota highlander with a cassette adapter. A few months later the casstte player in my highlander started acting up so I bought a FM modulator. Now I get a whinning noise when I play the roady through my stereo. I do not believe it is an alternator whine as it happens even when the engine is not running. The whine only happens with the Roady if I connect my iPod to the modulator no whine. I am at a loss.

U are picking up spurious radio noise (comes from anything that uses electricity and other things like overhead transmission lines, it may be from the cassette player motor, go to radio shack and try to find an RF filter that will suppress this noise, that should take care of it, also the chassis of the cass adapter must be grounded to the car chassis sheet metal, if not the motor noise can come through from the little DC motor's in the player.

Will delphi sa10000 without cassette player

Should be able to hear Sirius channels through your FM radio. Cassette is better, but you can just set up your FM radio to the same channel as you set the Delphi unit. See instruction manual (download from online here) http://www.siriusretail.com/pdf/hardware_support/delphi/skyfi_operations.pdf

When my receiver is plugged into my boom box, I get a display reading "check cradle for power"

It's not receiving enough power from the boombox so the voltage drops too low for the receiver to function properly. Check the cradle connector for bent or pressed pins and the power source of the box for proper functioning: measure the voltage it delivers and the status of its components, especially the filtering capacitors.

What do I need to install my roady to a 12volt dc system?

Just a Delphi 12VDC cigarette lighter adapter plug that will plug into this unit. You will also need an XM mini car antenna plugged into it. This has a nice FM transmtter, so you can use that, or use the audio output plug to go to your car AUX input jack or use a cassette adapter. Okay? More questions, just ask.

My delphi roady plays through cassette adaptor. Volume is very low even when audio level is moved all the way up. ???

You need to cycle back through after puttung the cassette in. Mine did that (before the cassette feature stopped working altogether) and I would press my "source" button so it would go from the cassette to the radio, then CD and back to the cassette - the sound would be back to normal again.

My RoadyXT forgets what channel it was set to when I turn it off for more than a few minutes. It remembers if I'm only moving it from one vehicle to another, but when I turn it off overnight, it comes on...

No battery. Always turn it off with the POWER switch, not just pulling the plug on the radio or taking it ouf out it's base. Using the POWER switch, then it will remember for a little while.

Cassettes being ejected automatically

The belts are probably shot in the cassette player that's 13 years old. You can probably buy another radio like it and just change out the cassette portion if you are a good electro-mechanical person.

At this time, Delphi does not currently have an authorized repair center. If you are within your one-year warranty period, please contact the Delphi Warranty Center at 1.877.GO.DELPHI (1.877.463.3574). Hope this is helpful

Cannot Get Antenna To Pick-Up Signal

If your roadyxt came in a red box then you need to hook up the XM SureConnect to your vehicles antenna. The instructions that come with it are simple and straight forward. Your FM transmitter will not work unless you hook up the sureconnect
